I saw it, and I have mixed feelings with it here and there.

I looked at The Darkness comic book covers and all, and Jackie has like all those metal and glowing eyes and some sort of a metal mask...etc. that really looks "dark" and powerful, but I don't know why the game doesn't have those :S

Unless he will transform into that later on in the game.




In the game he looks more as too human rather than this bad ass look that the original comics made him look like.

Anyone know if the transformation and all will be there? Making him look like a human throughout the game is kind of boring in my opinion.

That is at least what GAME has it here in Europe.

I don't know, I might get it, may not be on release but someday when its released. Looks cool you know.

He only transforms when he uses The Darkness powers. So most of the time he should change his appearance in FPS and unless he uses powers in cutscenes we won't see Estacado as a monster. But he is so evil, I wonder if he'll be like that in the game.

HE doesn't even transforms in first person view either and the cutscenes.

Don't you remember the CGI and some of the trailers showing Jackie while using the powers, he didnt even look close to what he looks like in his "true" form. I think that sucks, because obviously the devs have gone through so much to get the comic feel to the game, but not the transformation of his true form.

I hope he changes later in the game, but I think it will be like somewhat near the end of the game were they might give us hints of a second game coming were his true form will be shown and greater powers...etc.

Well, a lot of comics lose the human factor by playing dress-up. There's a Frank Miller version of the origin story of Daredevil, and his improvised clothes before he goes all red and horny are vastly cooler, because it's just an extension of Matt Murdock.

I think Starbreeze have simply opted to preserve the humanity in Jackie in order to contrast that to the insane stuff he does once he gets the powers. Otherwise he'd quickly just become another Spawn.

Well one of the trailers recently showed Jackie with two different faces. The alternate one was very evil and menacing looking. Hopefully that will please you Sath.

it was the paranormal trailer...i think it was called something like that. it does indeed show 2 sides of jackie, the "normal" long haired, trenchcoat wearing jackie, and this creazy grinning monster side. i'm guessing the darkness will completely take over by the end of the game...which mean, the darkness 2.

Well yeah I just saw it couple of minutes ago...and it had paranormal look to it, and it was NOTHING even close to the comic book images.

I do hope we get to see Darkness take over, because reviews have like 8-9 of 10 already and I doubt that StarBreeze will let The Darkness go.

I hope there will be sometime "later" in the game were you are actually able to see this "form" of Darkness and all like the comic book and mess around with it like a "teaser" before it ends, and gives hints for Darkness 2 you know.

But I have to see how the trading games will be like tomorrow when I clal GAME up, hopefully good and I can get it in 4 days of tomorrow :D.

Sath, i think Starbreeze might be saving the full out metallic look for when they include some of the other more supernatural characters from the comic series. That is pure conjecture on my part, but it seems like its purely you with your powers against humans in the game. Maybe for the sequel they will include some of his other enemies, and that's when he gets the suit your talking about.
