2008-03-08 23:15:33 God of War: COO [PSP] - Impressions ?

Alright, I am seriosly considering to get a PSP now after seeing the very positive review that God of War: Chains Of Olympus is receiving

The game is averaging a score above 90 now!

I was initially going to wait for FF7: Crisis Core to come out but I cant now seeing how this has turned out. This doesnt come out in europe until End of March anyway but I have a few questions:

1. Are all PSP games Region Free ?
2. If the above is true: Is there anyway online to get a PSP other than Ebay ? I was thinking that If I get it from the US then I can perhaps order a few games from there as well and end saving a few bucks! My budget is rather very limited :(

Now, did any of you play God of War Chains of Olympus ? any chance you can give us a few impressions ? I know the reviews are very positive but Honestly, nothing beats the impressions of a fellow gamer :)

You can dream all you want, kid, but it won't do any good 'cause when you wake up again you'll realize nothing has changed.

I had quite a bit of fun with it when it was in for review. God of War fans will love it and the combat mechanics and boss battles are translated to the device very well.

The one thing I cannot stand however is the "nub" device on the PSP and I found diving quickly in one direction (using L1 + nub) very hard to do. This was annoying given some boss battles require you to be able to pull that off.

It's more a fault of the PSP than the game though and I was playing on an old debug version, perhaps the new small ones have improved it?

I'm getting my own PSP when Play.tv comes out for sure :D

  • SimonM7
SimonM7 Yeah. We harp on about games supposedly being their own artform, yet the majority of players value the aspects shared with other mediums the most. Not exactly an airtight case. (11 minutes ago)
