I haven't even tried the 1v1 battle--guess I can at least do that before I delete it. I love Virtua On..one of my favorite games ever. I would love to own a dual VO:OT setup :P

Ok Grift, go ahead and depreciate those controllers.

Really, the game is extremely shallow. The controls are pathetic, no other way around it. If you think you can get it working out, play that one on one mission and you'll see why they are pathetic. That mission shows the true problem of the game.

Also, lighting is good, but environments feel empty and the other visual effects are extremely weak. Shoot the ground in front of you, it looks unfinished WEAK!

@R0oK, I'm glad you liked the game but:
This game is fast? Compared to what exactly?

I think we can all agree this game is a shoot them up right? Ok, how can anyone who has played Zone of the Enders 2 not find this game to be extremely shallow? I don't know.

Well I will say I played 2 mechs, the red one (and probably the lightest/fastest one) and another bigger one. I had a significantly better time playing as the lighter one since yeah, he is friggin fast if you keep blasting all around the place with the triggers.

Also, it's cool if you don't like the controls... They are definitely strange and could be easier to get into, however saying they are pathetic and broken is just an excuse for not wanting to adjust. That just reminds me of the recent SSX Blur release where most reviews were crying broken control schemes, and a day later someone was posting vids of mastering the controls and doing everything people said was impossible at first glance.

Well, to me they are pathetic. There are THREE (3) freaking turbo buttons, wtf is that? Double tapping a trigger could serve better than pressing Y.

Well, and I won't keep it up because you obviously don't find them as bad as I do, so what's the point eh?

like I said, AC has always been an acquired taste. It has its dedicated fanbase. Funny thing is, the controls in this demo, are a hell of a lot easier to pick up on than the previous installments :P

I kinda like it too. And I think there are only 2 boost buttons, but they are not the same function.

Well 3 if you count the Y button, but I haven't found that remotely useful yet.. I just use the left trigger (hold it down for lift off) and right trigger for lateral boosting. I guess I just like the game cause the movement looks like Virtua On (to me). I can't stand mech games that have you moving at a snails pace, but I love ones that let you zip all over.

Oh I wasn't using the right trigger. Hmm.

My biggest gripe is that the auto-targetting seems a little random. And I couldn't figure out how much ammo I had for each weapon and it seemed like they would randomly run out.

The ammo meter is on the top middle of the HUD, as for the auto-targeting, yeah, that was one of the problems. It would be random, especially during the 1vs1 fight, that thing was all over the place :P

I found it quite repetative and boring to be honest, graphics are quite nicei suppose, but the 1 on 1 battle was just a blur to me, the speed of your opponent and the lack of any control just made it almost imposible to lock on half the time.

The Water level was more interesting and slower paced but still quite repetitive.

Will give this a miss i think.

The FF13 trailer is not real-time gameplay, if you think its real, you are a dumbass.

Man, I love Armored Core! Admittedly, when I first played AC 2 I thought the controls were terrible, but they're just...different. Watching my friend blast through the game pushed me to learn the controls and its like second nature now. Still love playing 1 on 1 AC 3 versus my only friend who can actually play the the game. Seriously, the 1 player game in the series could be better (but I still love it) but the multiplayer is simply amazing. I think AC has had some of the best 1 on 1, in any mech combat game (ZOE had a great main mission but no skill involved in multiplayer), when you get 2 skilled players in a match the fight can go on for a long time and its insanely intense the entire way through. Can't wait 'til AC 4 comes to NA, one of the reasons I chose the 360.
