They're aiming for 30fps with no drops and with v-sync.
The videos are still from a 2 months old preview build though.

The camera just did not look right in those older videos. Im not completely sure but it seems like they might have sorted it lookin at these vids lately.

Meh, I'm still not sure I'll be buying this game. In fact, unless they releaase a demo, I will never give it a try.

That car movement can be annoying and I don't know if it is the driver or what, but that doesn't look like rally to me, I saw absolutely no powerslides/drrifts, nothing, it felt like a walk in the park.

The graphics are awesome. There are some weird kind of pop-in problems mostly with the trees/bushes, but aside from that it looks amazing.

I know I will never give it a try because it has no proper MP.. Buying a racinggame just for SP is a no-go for me, it becomes to boring to fast.. I want to race with my friends, and that's all.. Our (me+friends) money will go to Forza, and we'll continue to wait for a proper online rally racinggame.. To bad the RSC franchise appears dead..

Best crashes I've seen the generation bar none. This video should convince any of those that are on the fence, that we have a quality title on our hands. Great crash physics and destructible environments. I'll be putting my wheel to good use this Summer with this and Forza2.

There's no doubt that its worth the purchase, its just playing 2 racing games at the same time does unfortunatly not work. They control so differently that it'll screw up my driving in Forza 2. Dirt seems a lot more sensitive and twitchy that Forza2.

I saw this On The Spot and it didn't really look especially hot until they loaded up some traditional rally and hopped into the in-car view. Man, that made all the difference! Excellent sense of speed, and seemed like a joy to play. After the somewhat rubbish Colin 4, this seems to have turned around completely and looks to be a rather worthy substitute for the sorely missed RSC3.

Very impressive. The in car video is nice and they really nailed the lighting and shadowing. The foiliage and animated grass looks beautiful. Dust is only ok for a title called Dirt and mud is pretty absent. Still looks like it needs a little framerate tweaking. Damage looks great, as does tearing down fences! Driving model looks like what I experienced in Toca3 -- kind of floaty, but passable. Not much into single car rally racing, so hopefully it has a lot of 8+ cars on track courses all racing side by side. The lack of MP SUCKS though and will result in a no buy for me. No online = no buy. But a great effort and looking great considering how, errr, average Codemasters can be. Nice job Codemasters and welcome to next gen. Now lets improve those features!

Screens look extremly good, but videos, though impressive, are not as nice, the game still has v sync issues and pop up...
I wish the devs had 1 or 2 more months to polish the game...

I think i'll stick to Forza 2 this summer. this has a horrible frame rate and really twitchy gameplay in my opinion. Say what u like about Forza2, but it has really raised the bar for racing games.
