Knowing EA it'll go on all systems including the N64 if they could.
Hopefully it'll come to the 360, PS3 and REV then.

“When asked if Crysis would also appear on a next-generation console such as the Xbox 360, Yerli said that they were only working on a PC version.”

Interesting… Crytek won’t make console versions of the game. But knowing EA, I find it hard to believe…
Odd! I know in the past they were working with dev kits from both companies... maybe a Vista timed exclusive?

Maybe EA will have additional inside/external teams to handle the Xbox360/PS3 versions (with the same 3D engine of course), much like what Ubisoft did with Xbox Far Cry, leaving Crytek to concentrate on the PC version.
But I can’t think of EA making this a Vista-exclusive.

I was thinking that. Looks like Crytek has others doing their console games already. I know Yuri had made some comments on the PS3 and some pluses and minuses (he liked CELL overall) so I know internally Crytek has looked at it.

Scary thing is there are only a number of really solid devs capable of porting something like this. I know id Software has a couple developers they have good relationships with who specifically do a lot of porting for them. I know in the past Gearbox did a bit of that, but they have moved on to their own IPs like BiA now.

Anyhow, this game looks like a winner. May be the game of E3. I cannot get enough of it. It is good enough to convince me to move to Vista :D

Just depends how much control Crytek retains. Valve is now using EA for store front publishing. If a developer is big and has a good reputation and has some clout they can get contracts like id Software has with Activision -- i.e. it is done when it is done.

The problem is your smaller devs don't have that power, even the good ones. There are very few people in this world who can tell a mulit-billion dollar company, "Stuff it, the game comes out when it is done... now we need another 10M".

If you were a dev and wanted absolute control, the key is financing your own games. If the publisher ONLY publishes/markets/distributes the game you have a bit of control if you are paying for the game and own the IP.

A game as ambitious as this one, can’t be rushed. If (horror!) EA has the control… I fear all we’re going to get is pretty graphics…

The latest issue of EDGE has an interview with the Crytek team and the head of their studio was very complimentary about his relationship with EA. It compared very favourably with their previous publisher (Ubisoft).

Pretty sure he said they were pretty much being left alone to get on with it.

I can't help but keep thinking halo 3 could look better than crysis come E3 ;)

Pretty crazy that we are going to be getting games of that graphical quality this generation.

It may be hard to believe based on some of the amazing visuals we have seen, eg GOW and Crysis. But MS and bungie will do what ever it takes to make Halo3 be a level above the rest. Just like halo was at launch and just like Halo2. The Halo2 graphics engine for Halo3 is complete crap.

why no scans Plumb? =(

There are cool scans that I wanted people to see. Anyway sorry that they had to go then, awesome shots.

Well I pre-ordered Far Cry Instincts Predator for 2 reasons.

1. The envoirment and the guns and the style is like Crysis
2. The mutliplayer should be awesome.

I owned the regular FC Instincts on Xbox but I didnt have Xbox Live then so its a bummer. But now its gonna be freakin sweet. I love the gun models. Buying the game this friday and then BF2 MC.

the good news:
EA will surely turn in multiformat game
the bad news:
The target platform is PC, everything else will get a sad port

I seen the video and I'm impressed, but not fully

if you look at single screenshot, the texture level is not impressive, as the detail of models, we are already at this level (and for some games as graw, a bit better imo)
the motion blur simply make it look better while it's moving

the thing that make this so "real" is the ambient lightining with subsurface scattering, this is awesome

ambient lightining and SSS are the new big step, as was "HDR", for the look of games
we know that the early games that uses SSS on 360 are very near, I just hope to see ambient map lightining very soon too

edit: take a look to this framebuffer screenshots (from the video), this are not scans
so you can see with your eyes the textures and the models
the tank is horrible imo, graw is another world, imo

4th pciture looks awesome.
But hey atleast we know that its not pre-rendered *cough* PS3 *cough* hahaha
But you know what they say, no? I will say it again

Never EVER look at screenshots and say the graphics is terrible. Watch it in motion. Once its in motion all the objects and such goes great. In screenshots you can see alot of bad stuff no matter how good the graphics is.

I love Crysis, and its amazing, in motion is just wonderbar hehe.

screenshots gives us the possibility to judge the detail as textures, polyconut etc..
of course every game will be better in movment, as there are some dynamic effects as hdr and motion blur, but MB can hide details

I think that maybe we are hyping too many this game, take a look at others situation aside jungle

this, apart the resolution, is possible on far cry 1 on xbox, imo

I say PS3 and 360 can handle that. But it need to tweak. Look at BF2 on PC and BF 2MC on 360.

PC version has jets and such and bigger maps.
But the 360 has choppers and hella of good graphics. I would say if Crysis would port from PC to 360, they better tweak the maps or something, or make the graphics as good as they can best suited to the 360.
