Nice way of thinking there I must say, that way we are not too disapointed if a game doesnt live up to expectations.
Experiences from AC, NG2 and NGS2...I learned from my misstakes. Even though it looks very good now, doesnt mean it will stay that way in gameplay and balance when its out.
So I go with caution and awareness, not throwing money on games I know I wont play 1-2+ months once I buy it or how it will turn out.

Ah well, we will see.

Do you still remember how you used to put Dark Sector in every other post? Fun times.

EDIT: Lords of Shadow Castlevenia
EDIT 2: And then sometimes after that God of War 3

I kinda agree on that,I wish there was more reaction of the enemy when it strikes with the sword, but oh well they are polishing up the game still maybe it will be better at release.

Holy shit at the gamespot video, amazing stuff.
So much customization in terms of weapons and such and powers, also a very very nice hit detection really feels like you are attacking with a gigantic sword which is awesome.

But I cant stop wondering why some of the moves are from other games.

Wings (GOW), air fast spin slash (GOW), grapple (DMC4 Nero), windmill shuriken (NG series)...and more, some of the moves are ripped off from other games.
Even his scythe move were he throws it around him alot of times is from Ninja Blade, quite a shame they took various moves from various games like if they couldnt come up with any move of their own.

But you know, sure its dissapointing to see that, but what this game offer from art, music, indepth customization for items and weapons, exploration, I forgive them.

But anyways, the gamespot video wow'ed me, making it a bit more sure for a purchase.

Well the WS its more akin to the Boomerang in Zelda the grapple too its more like the hook in Zelda as for the spin slash yeah it reminds me of GoW.

I also like the fact that the grapple hook if the enemy its really big it makes you come close to them and if it is small it makes them come to you.

It looks nice the weapon switching too,it willmake the combat fun.

Here is a nice article in Kotaku.

Well which Zelda are you talking about because NG had the windmill shuriken ever since NES first game.

But anyways, I dont care, as long as its good, just like how Dead Space was from RE4 (but much better).

Ocarina but yeah I know NG has it since the first, what Im saying is that they said that the inspiration was Zelda and Metroid for the exploration and various games for the combat.

SimonM7 Sorry, imagine THEM standing on THEIR own I meant to say. (16 minutes ago)
  • SimonM7
SimonM7 The games counterpart is the interaction, the rules of it, the mechanics. Yet many seem to vastly value its storytelling component over those. Or rather, be unable to imagine it standing on its own. (18 minutes ago)
  • SimonM7
SimonM7 Sure, but games are much more than storytelling devices, unlike movies. Sure, a song can move you with lyrics, but we listen for the melody, something a book can't give us. (20 minutes ago)

Ronsauce If paintings/sculptures /movies/fashion can all be praised for their esthetics, I'm sure games can too. (24 minutes ago)
  • Ronsauce
Ronsauce @SimonM7: I always thought the debate was whether games were art, NOT whether they are their own artform...which they would be if they were art in the first place. (27 minutes ago)

Doom_Bringer ATI makes the crappiest GPU's seriously, my GPU keeps freezing and crashing my computer after a 30 min intense workout. Didn't the 360 ATI GPU have the same problem? Cheap bastards (1 Hour ago)
  • SimonM7
SimonM7 Yeah. We harp on about games supposedly being their own artform, yet the majority of players value the aspects shared with other mediums the most. Not exactly an airtight case. (1 Hour ago)
