The story follows Master Chief and four specially selected Spartans as they launch out on a stealth cruiser into the heart of a massive Covenant fleet in a bid to recover a valuable intelligence asset.
This episode will prove that Spartans are just as adept fighting in zero-G and piloting never-before-seen light attack vehicles as they are on the ground. Once Master Chief locates the target he and the remaining Spartans blast their way on board, where the action gets hand-to-hand as they fight through an army of Covenant troops in order to recover the most important Human intelligence resource there is.

** Yes We CAN!! **
This episode was the biggest god damn disappointment yet, what a fucking ripoff! Two weeks waiting and for what, a fucking CG space combat sequence and a "to be continued" sign suggesting they'll waste the ep in two weeks on more of this generic videogame cutscene tripe.
God dammit, I didn't even have time to get into my bag of crisps before it was over. Argh!

Mods, stop changing my SIG! I'm going to end up banning you!
And odst was a bungie game was it?
Maybe they will both make halo games then.alternativly. Spending 2 years on eah one, releasing 1 per year like infinity ward and tryarch were made to do by activision with call of duty. Seemed to work for them, they made bucketloads of money anyway even if world at war wasnt quite as good, it was better then nothing for sure. And actually these screens look pretty awesome.
As someone was saying though, I can easily imagine Bungie continuing to develop Halo games. I think they'll have a hard time passing up on the exposition and molah that grants them.
On a more waypointy note however, The Package is up now in its full, un-gimped glory. Turns out I'm chewing some humble pie over here, because the crappy, generic space battle stuff pretty much gets replaced with some fucking awesome action in the part that now completes the episode. Also, once it gets its substance on - which surprisingly enough it does, it's not all manchild porn - it's of some significant-ass significance! Lovely! Might actually have been promoted to my fave ep so far.. but I dunno.. The Babysitter was sublime.
Another thing though, the sound design in this episode was just horrible. HORRIBLE. I mean chief is younger so I guess that COULD explain away the lack of the original voice actor, but the music is all tinny, sound effects lame and repetitive, and just.. the LACK of environmental sounds and the flatness of the audio was hugely disappointing. Shame on such a visually stunning production especially.

A lot of games start with a seed group of a handful or two of people who develop a concept and test technologies, art, etc. When the game starts development frequently you have a solid year+ of core development with 25-40 people. It is toward the end of the project, last 6mo-12mo where you ramp up artists. Bigger studios or isolated studious may carry more people through and between projects. But often the 100+ people groups you hear about are often the total people who touched the game--not the total number carried through the entire project. And it makes sense--you don't need a billion artists when your engine isn't still developed. You don't need a ton of testers when you have no gameplay to test.
This is why for a lot of studios it makes sense to have multiple teams. If there is a core component of 30-40 people between each team and a dozen in overhead for the company, having another 40-50 people flux between projects as needed, and stagger development, becomes more efficient (and you aren't as prone to lose those guys you hire for a job for 6 months and then let go--you never know if you get those buys back).
