I want it for graphics and games, i saw the latest LED iMac 27'' screen in a store and was breathtaking, best sceen i have seen in my life

But it is not windows compatible and all my games and program need windows

So, is there anything close to that screen for PC ?

Hate glossy LCD's. I would think any IPS panel would be pretty fuckin' fantastic.. and what do you mean it's not Windows compatible? I'm pretty certain there are people using 27" iMacs as PC displays right now, and people running Windows on 27" iMacs. I'd just get a cheaper IPS panel that's equal in quality to Apple's display and call it a day. Dell's UltraSharp line is factory calibrated and like $500 for a 24" 16:10 screen.

I want 26-27'' to make a real difference, i guess the coming Samsung with he semi gloss screen will be the best of both words

so, laptops use LED back lighting, right? Why is it so hard to find one with a good looking display?

Isn't LED supposed to be, um, better? Obviously they are with TV's

Or am i just wrong about that?

LCD's have terrible ghosting effect that's really apparent if you play games. I have never seen any ghosting on my Plasma tv or the LED monitor.

OLED > Plasma > LED > LCD :/

btw the newer Plasma's don't have the burn in problems. I have using my Panasonic Plasma for over a year now and I never had any issues of burn in or image retention on the screen. My little sister watches tv shows with large black borders on top and bottom and even those don't burn in on the screen!

I love setting the black levels to dark for really great quality picture for some PS3 games.

Worth noting that "LED" TV's are not OLED TV's. They're just normal LCD's (TN/TFT) with LED backlights. That's a TN TFT display, just like my ancient non-LED LCD.. it's just a newer and higher quality one.

And you can't beat IPS panels for color reproduction. This thread wasn't specifically about gaming. IPS (which is another LCD tech) > everything.. but TN displays are fine (better?) for gaming anyway.
