There is nothing wrong with loving how GT HD looks as that latest video looked incredible damn near real, but it just seems that there are no concerns with the gameplay just as long as it looks unbelievable.

yea man, i wouldnt mind comparisons if granturisimo (HD) was even attempting to do what forza is doing
but it isnt, yet still people still try to compare like for like

some people call them selves mahosive forza fans, yet bash every screen, vid, info going
and then post "wow gthd replay amazing...." what ever
its a one car demo with ps2 backgrounds , not realy taxing in the old cell is it?
untill gt hd (or 5) has more than 5 cars on track with full damage modeling and full polygon backgrounds and a physics model that forza has , ohhh and the customisation that forza has they should stfu !

vid that I haven't seen yet, that is pretty informative, and OK quality.

Talks about performance index, class, how racing line is changed from forza1 and not as intrusive. Persistent Identity of AI drivers (names) & how you can hire them to race for you, especially for endurance races. A little bit on the paint editor too.

The point is we've seen what the comparisons lead to when they take place in a thread dedicated to a specific game and no matter how much we see it happen we still fall into the same predictable pattern :)

I mean we can't expect every developer to do things the same way can we?

I wonder what the reaction would have been if I brought up DIRT instead of GTHD. I love GT replays and they are much better than those in Forza 2, what is the problem with that?

If some of you think "gameplay has taken the backseat" I really don't care at all, I know what I am saying, and I know what is important to me.

Carb, I didn't compare the games, that's something your mind came up with by the simple fact GT is considered the competition, and you don't like someone else giving credit where credit is due. I do wish FM2 had those awesome car models and replays, and that's all, you guys don't have to think anything else beyond that. I also don't care if the backgrounds are PS2 quality, I know they suck.

I get a feeling that if I have to say I like something about X PS3 game, I have to point out what really sucks in order to be "OK". What's up with that?

I don't think that was the point. It's just that comparing Forza 2 to GTHD is not very even at all.

Yes. One is a launch demo that has been out for months and the other is an unreleased game in development for over 2 years.

man its not about giving credit where credit is due, it the fact that people are still insistant in comparing ghtd with forza 2(this does go on on other forums you know ;) )

when gthd and forza 2 are two differing things, yea sure if forza 2 only had one car available on the track at one time and used xbox (forza 1) backgrounds then how good would the car model look, fanfuckingtastic would be the word of choice. (but as they are, the car models in forza 2 still look fanfuckingtastic and your kidding no one by trying to say that they aint)
yea sure gthd has flashy replays but the gameplay.ughhh! (yes i have played it..wished i hadnt) leaves me with an empty feeling (like that realy hot blond you once fancied like mad....until she opend her mouth and you heard her speak) its a bit shallow.
replays might be important, but isnt GAMEPLAY more important?
you being a forza1 fan an' all should know that F2 will deliver this in bucket loads

seems to me (and others) that you would prefer to have a game like gthd....than forza 2 because you give gthd more praise, whilst you always nitpick forza

but thats the impression that i get.

Being a Forza 2 thread, it should be ONLY about Forza 2, isnt that the whole point of having a topic?? You say your not trying to compare but all you ever do is praise GTHD, post pics/vids about how amazing the car looks in a Forza 2 thread. If you want to praise GTHD for its fantastic replays, start a new thread here or over on playsyde (Thats what its there for).

You harldy ever have one word of praise about what Forza 2 is doing, The latest vids of shows how it excels beyond any racing game graphically and you say, "Now Its acceptable" LoL, that really made me laugh

@Carb, no I wouldn't change Forza for GT. Gameplay is more important yes. And car models in Forza 2 don't look "fanfuckingtastic" to me, and I kid no one. I've seen much better looking models already in PGR3, DIRT and GTHD. That's what I see, is not something you should agree with. And I don't care about a racing game being 30fps as long as it doesn't drop below that. So to me, 60fps is no big deal if that means car models that lack lots of detail, and going from 12 to 8 cars on-track.

Forza 2 is much less than what I was hoping for, much less than what was first announced. I'll be buying this game, but that doesn't mean it has not disappointed in many ways.

I hardly ever have words of praise for Forza 2 because they hardly ever have announced/showed anything worthy of that. Most of the praise was done with Forza 1, many of the things you guys praise are the same as in Forza 1, I don't see the point in praising what was already there. I'm expecting new things. I have had good things to say about the physics, new GUI, and revamped editor. When I praise GTHD is only because of their car models, and that is because well.......they look amazing, what do you want? Oh and the replays :)

FM2 to me, looks acceptable and that's all. If that makes you laugh then you have a great sense of humor I guess. It's 2007 and Colin McRae DIRT is also coming out this year, and the first scans of PGR4 show me what I AM EXPECTING for a 2007~8 game.

Thats the craziest thing i've ever heard. Comparisons is all part of discussion. If something else (eg, GTHD) is doing something better or worse than what we are discussing (Forza2), then why not bring it up. People are getting to easily offended.

The reality is that they bring other games only to derogate Forza2 (pgr3 photomode, gthd replays) denying the fact that they are not representing gameplay graphics and are in essence ... fake. As i said, they provoke. If something is worse in other games they mention nothing. If they dont like the game, they can simply stop talking about it. In fact this thread is a proof on an intolerence toward developing process of game.
