Hey there. Long time lurker here (since way back when this site was xboxyde) finally getting around to posting something.

I know how annoyingly opinionated the input can get on this site and that's exactly why I'm posting today: I would like some opinions. So as y'all see, aforementioned in the title, I'm looking for a good shooter on xbox one to hold me over. I have always been a fan of the battlefield series however I have stopped following COD ever since the 2nd Modern Warfare. First question: has this latest entry got the COD series back on track?

Secondly, I work quite a bit and don't have much time to delve into multiplayer. This being said, I will probably be playing campaign a majority of the time. Which game would you recommend for short stints of gaming? Thanks.

Oh and if I'm completely oblivious to some kickass shooter out there (preferably not lacking in the SP department) that blows my options out of the water, let me know.

i'd go COD out of those 2. it's got the best single player out of the 2 (and one of the better COD campaigns for a long while) it's also got a lot of modes both competitively and co-operatively. and if you're like me and went off the series it introduces a fair few new movement options that genuinely change up the gameplay compared to the games that came before it.

personally i'd go battlefield 4 though over anything, the campaign is shit, and short, but the online is great.

If you're into conquest, then this seems like the best answer. I'm not a big fan of most of the console shooter line-up though, so this is a bit of a no brainer for me. And you can pick up premium edition on the cheap these days (especially if it's on sale). If you were on PC.. I might have different recommendations. Also.. if Halo is your thing there's always MCC, but OP probably has that already.

Of course.. you also want a campaign.. which complicates things. Given the short list and that requirement, you may have answered your own question already.

Thanks for the input guys. I had BF4 back when I had a PS4 about a year ago and played the shit out of it; great game, but a little burnt out now. So it seems like BFHL isn't a big step up/ departure from BF4 and that's kinda what I'm looking for. Glad to see KORNdog recommend COD (i know you're a picky gamer, based on you're comments throughout the years). Cheers!

BFH does do things differently than BF4, but there's obviously a lot of crossover too. It's a little more simple and a little more silly.

I think you're on the right track though.
