2008-03-08 03:46:31 Yeah, Uncharted is totally one of the "new gen" highlights so far. It also does the seemingly impossible of feeling complete and satisfying, yet keeps you excited about inevitable sequels. So many games set sequels up by giving you a fraction of a game, a fraction of a story - an adventure. Uncharted takes no such shortcuts. |

2008-03-09 15:01:28 It's also a fantastic game to replay, with a great fluidity to proceedings and minimal downtime. Try harder difficulties and shoot for the Achie...uh... tro...entitle.....WHATEVER. The award thingies. |

2008-03-09 15:19:33 I can't find the motivation to go for those things when the score doesn't count towards an overall number. I much prefer the 360's way of doing things. I hope that becomes a standard on all of the next consoles. Theres a lot of achievement haters but I think they are one of the greatest things to happen this gen. --- |

2008-03-09 20:49:00 I like achievements purely because they are a record of something you've achieved. I liked it when Halo 1 had emblems for completing different difficulties, and that gave me motivation for the first time to finish a game on higher settings than "normal". |

2008-03-10 01:31:16 In reply to SimonM7 (2008-03-09 20:49:00) Posted by SimonM7 Then again, if the game is good enough - fun enough - I will wanna get everything regardless. It speaks volumes that games aren't worthwile anymore unless they give you some synthetic reward, some false sense of increased status. |

2008-03-10 11:12:27 Absolutely. The standard is consistently high, but that doesn't mean anyone will wanna go back and replay games. |

2008-03-10 11:58:34 We obviously play games for different reasons then. Few games have truly compelling stories. I look for gameplay first and foremost. Those two posts seem.. well completely contradictory to me. But eh, whatever. |

2008-03-10 16:08:59 In reply to GriftGFX (2008-03-10 11:58:34) They're only contradictory if you do apply the terms "good" and "bad" to it, which you should know by now not to do. |

2008-03-11 00:09:20 Look, if you can't tell the difference between a gameplay driven game and a narrative driven game then that's your problem. |
