of course, PC is for the main gaming, and 360 version is mainly to take advantage of live. I thought the PS3 supported KB/M for gaming, or did I make that up? Maybe its just KB/M for web browsing

It's optional, so it's all up to Epic. What's the live advantage for this title? Peer to peer gaming? ;P

Yup, pretty much. Not all my friends who have a 360, have a good PC to run UT3 on. So I will pick up the 360 version so I can play with them.

Epic commenting on UT3 (UT2k7 at that point) actually talked only about the implementation of controls on the sixaxis which lead me to believe that Sony had in fact backed away from its promise to deliver kb/m support for shooters. I've heard nothing about it since, and apparently Resistance doesn't support it.

This puts my mind to rest a bit, since I worried that single player campaigns would be fucked up, difficulty wise, by catering to either. If online bits support kb/m I'd just be able to avoid playing online, but if it affects the solo experience in a bad way (too easy for m/kb or too hard for pad) you'll get smeared face of dismay from me.

I believe the situation with the PS3 will be just like the PS2--developers will have the option to use USB devices as game controllers. Some may use it, some may not (just like the PS2). It may wind up being the case that no one supports the option, but I think it's Epic's call.

If Epic doesn't do it, no one probably will.

Yeah, you're probably right.

I wanna stress that it's not me denying people who wanna use it the right to use it by the way. Although I would prolly say I'm looking out a little for my fellow gamepad lovers who wanna enjoy gamepad FPS' online on their consoles, but for me it's more about keeping the integrity of the single player experience.
