I am too poor to own a 360... therefor I play with paper statistics. The results of my indepth scientific anaylisis determined the most important benchmark is Pi. As in The Ring of Light.

This is just ridiculous that we would be seeing this kind of detail so soon in to the 360's life.

I can;t even imagine what we will be seeing in 3-4 years time from now.

Seriously incredible stuff here. Brothers in arms 3 developer himself said they wont get optimal performance out of the 360 till like 2 years later so the fact that stuff looks this good now is really a treat.

I know there are many die hard pc gamers out there, but I no longer see the justification for a pimped out pc. Sure you have some pc developers that try to innovate, but I find more console developers are pushing the envelope and in many ways its an advantage to having a closed box environment. My 360 was money well spent.

I really love that the first person view isn't just a flying camera like i always is. When you hop a wall you can see your legs when you take a grenade off your waste you see your waste. All the little things that just make this great. Your teammate positioning that metal thing down onto the rock to get ready to fire at the tank just awesome.

Never judge a game too harshly via screenshots or videos, because they are in no way capable of properly representing what the game truly looks like were you to see it running in front of you on a 360

One thing to note is that as much as people hype (over hype IMO) the UE3 engine for graphics, the really key core compoment is that it enables artists more control in designing shaders and game designers more than just mapping tools (e.g. they can do advanced scripting that before required a programmer).

The engine's focus is on content creation--and allows artists to begin work IMMEDIATELY. So in a 24 month dev cycle, instead of spending a lot of time designing and engineering an engine and creating art assets that may or may not fit right, you know what you have Day 1. This is why so many people have jumped on UE3. A lot of the bigger companies can make better specialized engines for their specific games, but UE3 is "good enough" and ahead of the curve enough that the effort spent creating more/better art has a higher return than creating their own engine.

The only down side is that these companies spend less time creating such engines and may behind in 2-3 years. Hopefully they are in codevelopment of internal engines.

I agree that UE3 is an amazing game engine, It seems at the moment that only BIA3 is using it correctly .. (looks totally different from the other UE3 games)

Hopefully they have full access to customizing parts of the engine, I duno if Epic would allow this or not.. (could break the code)

I think more dev's will probably go this route as dev cost's sore higher and higher UE4 - UE5 etc etc..

I don't disagree that your X360 money was well spent--but consoles are still quite a ways off from delivering a replacement for PC gaming..and I'm not just talking about the pace of technology, there are plenty of things that PC's just do better for some people...personally, I love XBL, but I find that the online experience on the PC side is still superior--it falls behind in usability, but for a seasoned PC gamer that's not really a big deal. Teamspeak may not be as user friendly as instant VoIP, but it's not rocket science either..applications like Xfire have made PC gaming slightly more intuitive..though I do still believe that's something of an issue for more casual gamers. Plus, pimp PC's serve additional purposes, other than gaming..there's a lot too this issue really..but regardless of that, if you don't see the point in playing shit like Crysis..well than what's the point.

This game does look great, I would consider playing the X360 version for single player--I'm curious to see how the PC version stacks up--and how the MP compares to other WWII shooters..I just joined a COD2 ladder--I wonder if this will soon be replacing it.

I agree with much of what you say GriftGFX but the fact remains that the majority of gamers (some PC gamers) prefer the ease of console gaming, no instalation, no configuration, etc etc.

Consoles are becomeing more and more like closed box PC's but doing away with customization, the only reason i would upgrade my PC is to play the latest game, but if i can do this on the 360 there is no reason for me to upgrade my PC.

Obviously there are still PC fans who want the best and fastest PC's the market has to offer but it really makes me wonder if spending $1000+ in upgrading is really worth it. (especially when PC games rarely take full advantage of it)

For a $1000 i could probably buy all 3 consoles.

The part where he catches the solder in his arm has been confirmed as an event that can happen during game play.

I'm not sure about the camera being tied to the animation. That sounds like it would be way more disorientating motion than needed.
