Well the versus dev said himself that it will be better than FF13 because it will be using a modified version of Crystal Tool and because its coming later than FF13 it will take better advantage of the engine.

Who cares anyway, If it comes to 360 its good for those that don't own the PS3, Region Free all the way :D

If Kingdom Hearts 2 was any indication FF Versus XIII will look stunning and of course there are people that prefer the look of the world in FF Versus XIII to begin with.

The characters look sweet, but it looks like the out all the focus on sweet looking characters and the environments seem to suffer for it.

How do you know that was a prerendered background ?

It could be fully 3D for all you know, and I'm guessing it is too.

I have no worries this game will be one of the most impressive visually when it is released.

Recently Nomura said that Versus XIII was more like traditional FF game than FFXIII was. What do you guys think that means exactly?

Maybe they totally re-invented FFXIII even while giving us a full party battle system? Maybe a simple translation error?

Versus 13 will play like a more hardcore and violent kingdom hearts. No doubt about it.

I think this time though they'll make sure that using magic nets a real benefit so that players are encouraged to use it instead of just going melee 100% of the way. They'll at least make them look really cool and devastating.

FF games have always been stand alone games. they have nothing relating to each other in terms of story. The only exception is FFX-2 which is a sequel to FF-X.

FF13 is a Totally new universe. If you want some FF goodness though regardless, go play FF-X. By far the best in the series for me. it has the best Combat system in a FF ever IMO (assuming you like turn based that is :D)

I love the turn-based combat, otherwise I wouldn't be interested in FFXIII. :P

I was reading the plot of FFXIII on Wikipedia and none of these names/terms make sense to me.

I would argue that FF Tactics has by far better combat, just moving your characters on battlefield adds a lot of fun and depth, and there are far more aspects to FFT than that (jobs system etc.).

Others FFs are really bland in comparison, combat is so simplistic it gets boring quickly. It's not as shallow as Dragon Quest though.
