Thing is this looks reeaaally nice, but I thought Pariah looked insane in screens too, and it ended up playing soooo naff. I just can't risk being excited. :(
But yeah, it looks really cool. I also like the fact that he's not just got a rubber ninja hat anymore and got a chance to have some personality instead.

I'm extremely concerned with the gameplay for this one so far.
Like the shooting is okay I suppose, but there's something about the way he throws that weapon of his that doesn't look quite right.

Simon - Not the same team that made Pariah. Same company but different team, easy to get confused. He was never a ninja what so ever, never owned a sword in non the concepts.
Op - Well the throwing is something I have observed how he thows it, and basically he does it like Ryu Hayabusa with the Windmill Shuriken in NG.
When he throws it and it comes back, his arm moves to the side of the blade that it is coming back as.
Like think about like a clock ticks backwards and that is how Hayden takes the glaive. IF he took it in a different way the glaive would cut his hand off, so ge grabs the glaive in the same motion that the glaive is spinning.
I tried hard to see why it looked so "weird" but I noticed the same thing with NG as well and it made sense.
Non the less, I did not know you were THIS picky Op, never. I thought you saw games in open minded.

Haha sath don't worry I'm not judging the game based on such a small issue. Just something I noticed if it isn't changed then it's something I'll just get use to.
It's not like such a small thing would prevent it from being an incredible game one way or the other :D Its really hard to explain there is just something about his throwing animation that doesn't seem finished to me. Because I look at all his other really cool animations and they are so much more fluid it seems. I wouldn't be surprised if the throwing animation for his weapon was placeholder. Not in regards to how he holds it. It's the whole throw and release the look of his body. I'd like to see a bit more style put into his throwing animation is all nothing big. Don't worry I'm just the same way with Too Human like I didn't like baldur's launching animation with the sword that sent enemies into the air.
Just something about it that didn't look as smooth or cool as it could be. Hard to explain really, but don't worry it isn't just dark sektor I've had these same concerns about. I've even had similar concerns about animation in Lost Odyssey.

Man am i the only 1 who thought that the 2005 E3 trailer they showed with the main character morphing and cloaking was a great idea, and now they went the whole mutated look like colosus from xmen...

Op - It felt like you did what others did, complain for a small thing and just for that the game would be bad. It takes time to adjust to a game no matter what. Glad you like it.
Boo - No you are not the only one, like other people like that one to, same as me.
Now that you mentioned Colossus from X-Men you are right, it is really close to that.
I really liked that suit, that was made me like Dark Sector a lot in the first place.
It is said that there is sci-fi in it, but a very exciting sci-fi twist that no one outside of the DS team knows or seen. A guy with a metal arm and city that has gone wrong in the past and looks destroyed doesn't make it sci-fi.
I honestly want to see this sci-fi elements in this game that they are talking about. I am not expecting alines or space ships, more like Deus Ex Invisible War.
With this sci-fi twist, I think they are going for that secret stuff like Assassin's Creed has. Something doesn't seem right, and that is why it has a twist.

Okay, I don't know the official term but I'm refering to this rubber hat. I prefer seeing his face, giving him personality.
I never really liked the cyber ninja motif though, that goes for Gray Fox aswell.

He is not a ninja Simon, I do not see a sword!

But Here is the thing, that mask (not a hat) it can be attached and disattache itself, it is a part of the suit. Kind of like Stargate or even MGS4 with Raiden mask when it opens up and closes and then you can see the face.
I guess that inside of the mask it is more advanced stuff than we have seen. It might can see heat, electric, scanning...etc. more like Sam Fishers goggles, but more high-tech.
Now that I think about it, the environment in this new one reminds me of the ones in Huxley.
Maybe there is a part underground of Lasria were it really looks high-tech but on the surface it looks very modern and destroyed.
I can't belive everyone is keep saying that the environment is more like Gears, because it isn't. Gears has very unique look to it, so I say it is more like Huxley.

So you really think the significance in my comment lies within him not being a ninja and that not technically being a hat? :)
Regardless of what you wanna call it, I like it that you see his face now! :P

Yes I do Simon.
That is not a hat :P
And no, he is not a ninja. It is a stealth suit with 2 guns. Gray Fox and Raiden however, has stealth suits just as Hayden HAD but instead of firearm, they have swords, now that is a "cybernetic" ninja. I although I loved the old concept as hell, but I have to face the facts that it was just a tech demo they showed us, nothing more. So now that I see the new one, I love it just as much.
Knowing the game has sci-fi elements in it, they haven't even showed us, I wonder what that might be.

About the morphing...
I haven't heard anything about that if Haydens arm can transform into something. By morph I mean like the same way the suit got morphed. However what if when Hayden evolves more and more he really can morph into like Colussus from X-Men kind of thing, something entirely else.
These are the things I think they are not telling us, that we want to see. They are saying that Hayden like a super-hero, and if I know my kind of super-hero then I guess I am waiting for a great change into a man. Look when Peter Parker turns into Spiderman he becomes bad ass and not afraid. If Hayden becomes something like that then it would be more awesome.

I hope Hayden gets something like this or even better in similarity to this.

Here is something very interesting. If one of the abilities is the shield, which it is, I hope it has a very cool effect and animation as the last one with the nano shield.
Who am I kidding, I want that freaking sci-fi Dark Sector back!!!
I hope the new one has a very big twist with it's sci-fi element and make it look very cool and unique.

I kind of thought about this last night that what if Hayden is dreaming everything. Like what if Hayden is dreaming about the past, about his last mission were he gets infected, and sometime during the game it showed that everything we played was just a dream of what has happened, and all of a sudden the camera zooms out and Hayden is fully mutated and is still on a mission, but yet the time has gone forward and the world looks like Deus Ex Invisible War kind of thing.
That would be cool, then we see his entire body mutated except his face, and that would be a very good reason, if they even decide to do it, bring back some kind of s suit.

Sometimes, wanting to like a game is reason enough to dismiss it right away, to avoid setting oneself up for disappointment.
It's not happened often with games that I react that way, but with movies like Sin City - totally!
I was so convinced that was gonna suck, when I saw the awesome trailer I was like "okay, even if the movie sucks I'm gonna ignore that and just watch this trailer forever."

You could just avoid the hype and go with your own instincts if it helps.

That is what I do. I never believe in others reviews and hype because in the end, I am the one paying for my product, so I am the one that must be sure if I enjoy it.
Dark Sector has very mysterious things around it that I can point out, but Digital Extremes haven't told us anything...yet.
Hell if Hayden is evolving, he might be able to "morph" himself into a full complete metallic lifeform as he please, like Colossus in X-Men movies.
When he entered the room with full of soldiers, he just quickly turned into his metallic form and took out everyone in the room.
You guys have to think of it this way...Hayden is suppose ot be a super-hero, not a action hero. Think Spider-Man, Wolverine...etc. heroes that evolves to something greater to humanity.
What I forgot to say is that in the beginning of the game you will see Hayden be a beginner with the glaive, and is slow and all, but he is evolving like every super hero out there. As time pass, and the hero evolves they can then completely control of every ability that person have to become stronger and faster.
The more you you use the glaive the more stronger damage it will do and will do it faster as well. You do not have to walk unless you are looking for something or just want to see the visuals...just run and take them out.
What I really would like is that if Digital Extremes gives us the feature to manipulate the silver arm to grow it to our entire body for taking out other monsters just like Hayden.
Now that would be something very awesome to add. Like they add a button for the morph"
If anyone says it lacks of originality then they lack of intelligence of not seeing it.
For all we know, this could be what Hayden body could look like in the end and be able to control his ability to change....
^^^^^^^Bad ass look!

So in proving its originality you're showing us X-men shots? :)
Don't worry, I'm just pulling your hair a little.
Yeah I manage to avoid hype with games pretty much all the time, hence my point about me applying it to movies usually.
