Page 1 2 >>/me shakes head at the jap developers once again ... a sad day a sad sad day
If you've watched the anime like I have you would understand more about this game than meets the eye.
Not too bad. Im probably going to have to get me a Japanese 360, with all these Japanese games that look fun, and amazing. Damn this website!!!!!!!!!!!!
... happy now jolli? :P
WOW the graphic is AMAZING!!!
... happy now jolli? :P
"OMG JAPANESE GAMES LOOK CRAP"
"/me shakes head at the jap developers once again ... a sad day a sad sad day"
what the hell do those remarks mean? i hope most people are smarter than screaming these stupid comments....
Ofcourse you can be negative but atleast give some reason for being negative: Example:
"This game looks awfull because there's no use of AA"

Damn I hope they put the demo back up on the Japanese marketplace.
As with Trusty Bell!
well the design on each level and enviorment need to be very good if the graphics technically arn't as impressive as what you expect from next gen games.
As with Trusty Bell!
Generally when i look at a game i don't look at the graphics but more the art style. I don't care how many polygons a game has because i sure as hell ain't guna sit and count them whilst im playing it.
Where as colourful quirky games appeal more to me, the majority of Xbox uses probably prefer dark realstic grity games, that's why a lot of people here probably have such a big distaste for Japanese content on this site.
But if that is the case and they don't like Japanese games there is little reason to post something negative about it.
You know what? he's actually right, we've got allot of people with stupid remarks like:

Please don't give me the "it's about gameply not graphics" argument. If it was only about gameplay there would only be a need to upgrade consoles and PCs every 10-15 years for major technological advances 2D to 3D, cartridge to CD etc...etc... Even then these additions may have been added with an add-on not a full upgrade. I know I didn't spend $400 just for "gameplay"
I always assumed that the "Boulet Time" feature was to protect readers from possible offensive posts and out right flames not to hide the opinion of some one who disagrees with you. Whats the point of a forum if every other counter point gets Boulet Timed?
There is an obvious trend that Japanese games generally use more colour than western games, if you look at Project Sylph, Trust Bell and Blue Dragon etc it's all really colourful.

people have a right to wonder why their new $400 console is not being utilized.
The 360 is still in it's first year so how about giving some of the games a break.
I wasn't implying that because a game is more colourful that it's a reason not to have more detail, i was saying that art concept and style (plus game design) is more important to me than any amount of graphical flare.

The reasonyou spent $400 is because dev's wanted to move away from the PS2 and Xbox so to continue playing games you had little choice in it.
I would like you to point out some Japanese games (which aren't port software) that are buffed up PS2 games.
Games which you have sat down and played on a 720p set on an actually 360 console, so at least you know what your talking about.
It's kind of strange that you came into this thread to disagree with me and not make any construtive point about the game in question.

Alot of the time in these type of debates you hear alot of excuses as to why the graphics are not up to date and while some of them are viable most are not. In todays age art style and texture quality/model detail don't have to be exclusive.
The main reason for my rebuttle is that I have been seeing alot of "boulet Time" over the last month or so and most of the comments have not been anywhere near offensive of flaming, This worries me. Thats also why I don't really post here alot anymore.

Hey, maybe it's because you've not been here grifter ;)

We have no problem with different views .
So long as they are not offensive, fanboyish, and you give a good reason? No problemo.
Blue Dragon in my opinion is one of the best examples of a next gen game so far :D Its using all the extra power from the 360 in really interesting ways.
Physical Simulation aka dynamic shadow animation (depending on position of you or your enemy), the amazing character animation (the way they pay attention to the smallest of details shu looks in the direction he'll go before the rest of his body follows such as his waist or shoulders etc), the beautiful rippling water we've seen (which happens to reflect EVERYTHING in the game world)
The realtime physical calculations used in the game's battles no more rinse and repeat spell animations which we see in every final fantasy game ever made. Each spell looks different every time no pre calculated animations for the magical spells we use.
All the programs they have running so that a lot of things you touch in the environment reacts to your character which is really cool. Shadows casted from trees show rays of sunlight coming from inbetween individual leaves as it does in real life through the use of shadow maps. A more advanced form of global illumination which gives a truly amazing effect. Also considering no game has ever used global illumination before. The really cool simulated reflection on that robot's armor which many thought was realtime.
This game has all the goods to appeal to the the graphics whore in my opinion, but it can easily go unappreciated, but then when we have such a technically impressive title and people like Sakaguchi, Toriyama, Uematsu and a small studio such as Mistwalker with about 10 people (there are advantages)
So, I started Mistwalker. And before, when I was working with Square, there was a large group of people working on each team. You know, like 100 or more. So, in order to maintain those people we have to continue to move the operation quickly. However, in the case of Mistwalker, we have a small number of people, so we're allowed to spend more time in the pre-production stage. So I'd be fully satisfied with the storyline, and then I can outsource it to the production team. With these two titles, I've used this structure.
Anyway I'm interested in seeing if this game (zegapain) in action and of course blue dragon :) (I personally think zegapain looks awesome, but it has to deliver on the gameplay to even be considered a purchase for me.)
Are you sure you got the right game?, I haven't heard anything about a demo of this.
I remember people saying that-NO WAY is n3 or Enchanted arms coming here.
Now both are.
I mean you never know what's japan exclusive and not.
Obviously titles like Dating Sim 2006 won't ..
