I definitely had fun with this demo and I believe that it will be a good game but the absolutely atrocious texture/geometry pop in will keep me from buying this game. After I got outside and started seeing all of that it just killed the experience for me. There is NO excuse for that on the PC and considering the game, although it's nice looking, is not exactly uber in the visual department.

If they can patch the pop in issues or resolve the issues for the final product then I will definitely buy it and recommend it to anyone.

Side note.. Stripped down females are some of the nicest looking female character models I've seen yet in a game. You can tell the artist took his time with that and thoroughly enjoyed it lol

Was very fun, cant wait to get it.

Only thing I really hated was the lack of character customization, its horrible compared to Dragon Age 1/2 and Skyrim.

oh, it's an hour long demo, that would explain the 2.5 gig download. from what i hear it's pretty awful tho? better have been worth the bandwidth.

Korn: well you have the tutorial and once you are done with that the game gives you a smal area to explore and quest in for 45 minutes. So all in all i takes over an hour for the demo to kick you out. But yeah it's pretty terrible anyway.

Has some issues as well. The second time i played the demo i skipped all the cutscenes which i guess didn't give the game enough time to load in all the content, because for the first 2-3 minutes my character had no head :P

Played the demo and loved it, it's no Skyrim... but then again I wasn't expecting it to be. This will be a great birthday gift for myself.

I played the demo on Xbox and I wasn't impressed enough to finish it. It wasn't "bad" by any means, but it wasn't "great" anywhere either. The textures were bland or non-existant, the "lighting/shadowing" sphere around your character was distracting as hell (you'll be walking around and watching the sphere POP IN the shadows and more advanced lighting on the environment as you walk around- it was very obvious and VERY distracting watching the world form around you). People were saying "It's like Fable, because it's pretty" but as a major Fable fan... "NO", it isn't- at all. Not even a little.
I also didn't like the combat animation. People were saying "like God of War" but as a 3x over God of War fan... NO it wasn't! Kratos has that slight delay in combat on combos, not on animation or movements. They didn't get that GoW feeling any more than they captured the Fable feeling.
Finally, the music was bland. Not memorable at all. The voice work was pretty good- no complaints there and I am actually interested in the story, so kudos there. I like the customization of my character and armor, but I HATED the clunky interface procedures each time I got new stuff!
We'll see how I feel after Skyrim and Dark Souls are done, but likely I'll be too close and WAY TOO ready for Mass Effect 3 to care much about KoA until I see it price dropped later in the year.

Didnt like the demo much at all really, buggy, glitchy, sound cutting out. Graphics where pretty poor. Bit of a mess technically. gameplay and combat felt shallow, just felt like an even more half assed fable. Art style was hit and miss. But worst of all, it kinda feels like i was playing an MMO such as WOW, only i was completely on my own doing so. World felt empty and lifeless, enemies just felt like respawning mobs, the quests you where able to do where too back and forth and fetchy for my liking. Not sure if it's even worth renting.

Good to know i'm not the only one finding this game to my dislike. It really feels stif and boring. Very MMO-ish, in the very shittiest sense.

There are alot of people who like it as well, its hard to know how many likes and dislikes there are, yes even those who dont even post on forums and just lurks or dont care about them.

You dont need to make a poll to know that most didnt like the demo on the forums i frequent. You just have to see how people respond. Some liked it, most didnt.

Sorry for all you console only gamers but the PC version of this game was great aside from the extreme pop in issues, which I hope are resolved in final release.

I've played through the PC, PS3 and 360 versions and although I can agree that the console versions are not so pretty, the PC version is MUCH nicer to look at. The difference is quite noticeable. I do think this will be a great game and have high opinions of the demo overall but like I said, the extreme pop in issues destroy the experience for me and will keep me from buying it. I can see this being an easy fix for the PC even if they have to do it with a patch later, and if they don't then that is inexcusable for most PC gamers.

Well the devs said the demo is a few months old and the updated game looks and performs much better, so I hope when the game comes out we dont see such stuff.

Honestly though, the demo was so dull that I could only finish the initial tutorial - didn't even bother to carry on when given the freedom to explore as I had absolutely no motivation to. Combat is very mediocre (especially considering that it's supposed to be the game's 'main attraction'), visuals are bland, customisation lacks any sort of depth... heck, even looting things wasn't fun. I predict very, very average review scores and sales.

I'll stick with Skyrim. :P
