Electronic Arts released these 12 new images of Battlefield 2: Modern Combat on Xbox 360. I don't think anyone had doubts about this anymore after this week-end's video, but it certainly looks good.
do u guys remember the first time you played the hobbit off your giant floppy disked pc,that was only like 15 years ago....in 15 years look how far its come..look at this fuckin game!its amazing...and i know alot of people piss and moan about textures and polygons(silly stuff)...when i look at this game and see how far the technology has come in 15 years
it makes me crave the next 15...cant wait for this game!!!!!

I never really caught the reasoning behind the criticism directed towards the Xbox version of modern combat. Could anyone enlighten me and while you're at it, say if this 360 version somehow improves on whatever was *wrong* with the other version.
I'm liking the look of this (except the faces on the character models, they all look like psychos) and it'd be a shame if it goes down because the foundation isn't solid.

I don't know. This game looked good until I saw that Crytek video...LOL. Nonetheless it's far more impressive than anything else I've seen on the 360. Yes even better than GRAW in my opinion...Especially the MP part of GRAW...is it me or I've noticed slowdowns in MP of GRAW. DICE rocks!!! Too bad we probably won't see another Rally Sport Challenge from them now that EA pwns them!
It looks passable in the graphics department, at least is not a straight port (Gun, X-men, etc) where the graphics are given the high res treatment and out they go.

Heh, Halo: Combat Evolved did this on the Xbox back in 2001. Although i don't think they were strictly 3D and they did dissapear after a while. Always a great little effect anyway.

There is nothing wrong with arcade. Games don't have to be 'realistic.' I mean, look at pong, that game pwnd in its day and it was totally arcade style. RETRO arcade style.
In fact, sometimes it is just a little bit boring if they are too realistic. No bouncy exaggerated physics, wallclimbing/running, guns on cars, space ships etc.

+ no jets + no commanders + no squads + gimped kits + arcade action gameplay + maps that don't scale (16 player versions please...not to mention, *cough* 64)...

And after all of that, it's still probably going to be the the best XBL shooter for quite some time..oh well.
I also am puzzled as to why the screen grabs look the way they do. They've obviously been supersampled up from a lower resolution - at least 200% or so - what gives? So does DICE (or whom ever is developing this version) not know how to get decent frame grabs? Or worse, not know how to get the game to run well at 720p? In the end, it doesn't matter too much, I know I'll be spending lots of quality time blowing the hell out of other people in the game.
