Many people have been criticizing the latest installment in the Hitman franchise for different reasons, so they were probably very impatient to get their hands on Hitman HD Trilogy, the collection regrouping Hitman 2, Hitman Contracts, Hitman Blood Money and a code to download the Hitman Sniper Challenge of Absolution. We have captured a few videos of the PS3 version, so get ready to go back in time.
Some things are usually better left in the past. Hitman 2 and Hitman Contracts may have been very good games, but they have aged, not only technically, but also gameplay-wise. Those of you complaining about the disguise system are in for a big surprise when they get shot without even knowing why, even though Agent 47's face is completely hidden under a hood. Disguise yourself as a bodyguard in the Italian mansion of the second episode, and you'll be spotted the minute you walk past another guard. It might make sense that they all recognize each other but as there is no feedback, you're basically left crossing your fingers hoping your cover will hold.
Gameplay has gotten very awkward, especially the clunky controls of Hitman 2, so we doubt many will have the patience to endure the many failed attempts you are bound to experience. The Hitman series has always been more a puzzle game than anything else, so patience has always been part of the fun. But a decade later, we must say we grew tired quite rapidly. There is however tons of content here, with a total of 40 missions, many of which are quite memorable. The presence of Blood Money can also justify a purchase if you are a PS3 owner, since the game was never released in HD before.
@Tinks: they started screwing over some of their long time 2nd party partners like Argonaut and (to a degree) Rare. (1 Hour ago)
during the 64 era Nintendo at least had Rare in their prime, but it was the start of real painful gaps in content. (5 Hours ago)
if you skipped the 64, Gamecube and Wii you may not feel their software issues the same as others. From what they've shown so far they've done little to correct their previous console issues. (5 Hours ago)
I don't think Nintendo can or will fit the mold he expects them to though. They never have, really. (6 Hours ago)
Jim always presents a solid argument. I think Nintendo has more wiggle room with this thing than people think if the market responds poorly to it. A portable SKU for example. (6 Hours ago)
@droezelke: The complaints he has in that video are mostly valid I'd say, sadly. (6 Hours ago)
