Many people have been criticizing the latest installment in the Hitman franchise for different reasons, so they were probably very impatient to get their hands on Hitman HD Trilogy, the collection regrouping Hitman 2, Hitman Contracts, Hitman Blood Money and a code to download the Hitman Sniper Challenge of Absolution. We have captured a few videos of the PS3 version, so get ready to go back in time.
Some things are usually better left in the past. Hitman 2 and Hitman Contracts may have been very good games, but they have aged, not only technically, but also gameplay-wise. Those of you complaining about the disguise system are in for a big surprise when they get shot without even knowing why, even though Agent 47's face is completely hidden under a hood. Disguise yourself as a bodyguard in the Italian mansion of the second episode, and you'll be spotted the minute you walk past another guard. It might make sense that they all recognize each other but as there is no feedback, you're basically left crossing your fingers hoping your cover will hold.
Gameplay has gotten very awkward, especially the clunky controls of Hitman 2, so we doubt many will have the patience to endure the many failed attempts you are bound to experience. The Hitman series has always been more a puzzle game than anything else, so patience has always been part of the fun. But a decade later, we must say we grew tired quite rapidly. There is however tons of content here, with a total of 40 missions, many of which are quite memorable. The presence of Blood Money can also justify a purchase if you are a PS3 owner, since the game was never released in HD before.
Microsoft's second/third party approach really isn't much of a problem.. outside of their lack of compelling FIRST party developers. That's the issue. (5 minutes ago)
And probably many more Japanese titles in the future. (8 minutes ago)
@Moonwalker: Ya know, not every third party exclusive is a "deal." Some developers don't have the resources to waste on a Bone port if they're not expecting the sales. See: Guilty Gear. (9 minutes ago)
@alimokrane: Would not surprise me, PS4 logo and all. But yeah ok you right. (2 Hours ago)
@alimokrane: More than likely in the East as MG: Rising was advertised as a PS3 exclusive when it came out in 2013 there. (3 Hours ago)
@Moonwalker: We don't know if it's exclusive... (3 Hours ago)
@Moonwalker: Saw this last night! Original Rising destroyed other action games out at the time that had a full dev cycle with half a dev cycle. So a Rising from the ground up will be super deadly. (3 Hours ago)
