15 minutes of Mafia 2

15 minutes of Mafia 2

It took Take-Two and 2K Czech (former Illusion Softworks) more than one month to release the E3 Walkthrough of Mafia 2 via this 15 minutes long video, but it was worth waiting considering how good this looks!

A sandbox game that trully puts to shame the visuals of almost ALL linear action shooters.
Amazing. (OMG, the music :0)

Looks amazing. Judging from the way the character controls and moves, it does look like it's the console version. The PC version would have been much more fluid with the aiming.

Day 1 purchase

PC version with 360 gamepad.

must be console version, some aliasing issues that would not be there one PC.
No realtime reflections on the cars ><
apart from that, graphics look really solid.

Any word about some coop mode ?

Looks awesome. Seems like they played it with a pad, I think the PC version will look even better.

Edit: Ok, didn't read. Hope the console versions look good too.

Game run too well (especially on the driving parts) to be on a console. (prove me wrong, that would be awesome!)
It had some slowdown in the shotgun shooting and here and there, though. Nothing relevant. (So amazing.)

Looks smooth as butter. I like what I'm seeing. It will be a day one buy for me. I could only wish this game would make a 2009 release.

The game looks awesome but that frame rate was far from steady.

Disappointed that its been pushed back to next year, but hopefully when it does hit it will run well on all platforms

just saw it again...that mission alone looks way better than anything in GTA4 (lol).

Engine seems pretty tight too! this game is gonna kick ass again! Mafia > GTA III

Mafia II > GTA4

Game looks great, I also suspect te PC version mainly due to high amount of AA (though I did only watch it @640x360). It lacks the style GTA IV has, but it's very impressive technically.

To me GTAIV > Mafia II per default because I generally deteste Mafia settings/stories and GTA IV just nailed the whole 'mood' perfectly. Still, the game looks quality no doubt!

I love how pc fanboys still have 1990's ideas of console controls.
If you'd actually play & get used to a current gen console, you'd know that the controls are just as fluid as a mouse, if not more due to less jerky motions.
Fact just is that almost all the preview and review dudes in game videos have piss poor aim, its basically as if you let a noob play a PC shooter, they'd make the controls seem jerky and noobish too.
Anyone who's any good at console fps' knows that there really isnt any difference, better or worse, between a controller and a mouse. Its just a matter of learning to use the tool.

the game has far better AA and texture work than GTA IV, but i still think GTA IV beats this game more technically. this city seems way too empty and generic. everyone on the streets look like they have a planned path to follow and a lot of the animations in this game look stiff.

the shooting in this game looks fun, but this mission wasn't so interesting. you're chasing a character through a dark warehouse (pshhh) and you have to kill off his henchmen to get to him. to add some drama, the place is falling apart. that sounds exactly like the last level of call of juarez: bound in blood, and countless other games that do the same thing. i'm not gonna fall for the pretty graphics on this one, because games that usually try to dazzle you with stellar looks before release usually turn out not as expected. assassins creed is a good example. i'm going to wait till i see more varied gameplay videos, or possibly a demo, before i make a decision of buying this.

Pretty nice but I think you guys hype the graphics too much. This could run on consoles.

Seriously why are you even commenting if you come up with this kind of nonsense....

games looks decent.

Snoopers are you sure that it runs on a PC ?
Graphics wise its amazing but this footage has way to much aliasing, Pop-in and low framerate to be a PC version...
Anyway if true hopefully the 360 version wont be to far from this.

Looks very cool.. Gameplay is a lot like GTA by the looks of it.. The censoring is just plain annoying though, like watching Scarface with bleeping, I really hope that's not in the game itself..

This is on par with Crysis visuals. Amazing. Such graphics for a sandbox game!!! I would like to know what specs the rig had they were playing the demo on.

Did they say "f**k"in the 1940`?

Looking great, but can it become boring? Some of the solutions like open a door is pretty dull. I think it lack the little extra so far. I loved the first one so much that I actually finished the race before the patch, so I am very excited about the game.

This is no match for X360 og the PS3 when it comes to graphics. You can tweak more if you have the latest pc-setup, but come on.....what is the point? Since when did graphics decide wich game to be good?
