PGR3: Direct feed video test

PGR3: Direct feed video test

As a way to test my new temporary capture setup (until I get the 720p capture hardware), here is a first direct feed video of PGR3 in cone challenge mode. Needless to say I'm not try to show off my incredible driving skills in this video, this is only a test. Let me know what you think of the quality. I could also try to use my HD camcorder with direct feed sound, what do you guy think?
Update : 840x472 version now online, let me know which one you prefer.

I really like the quality, but please turn off that garbage music next time!! It's killing the beautiful engine noise :(

Also, it could my my media player classic, but the video here looks brighter than your screenshots. Black is grey...

It should be any brighter than the screenshots. Very strange.

Nice video. Great picture quality and sound is clear. This game feels so realistic and you really get a sense of speed and g force.

Okay here comes the science bit

1) 30fps? Who cares when it looks REAL!
2) High-dynamic range lighting is GORGEOUS!
3) I used to like Less Than Jake, for about a week. :(
4) Blim you might want to practice some more! :P

Goat: Check your overlay video settings, mine always seems to look like nuclear blast with white bleeding all over the place until I change it.

While the bastard is playing it, I can quote something he wrote earlier today:

Just had a very quick 10 minutes go at PDZ. The aiming is much better than during X05, and the audio part is just incredible. Very very impressive use of the whole 5.1 setup
I just quickly played the tutorial level so I won't comment on the gameplay, but it looked quite nice and the aliasing was minimal.

I'm starting Kameo now, but I'll play more of the game tonight.

Oh and Blim, could you please give us a direct feed REPLAY video :D, in the day if possible. Thanks a lot.

Videos look great now, but if you could post the stuff in HD then even better.

Hey LEBATO, shouldn't you be on the bizarre forums trashing PGR3 like you're so good at doing? I'm surprised you still care about the game at all considering you are oh-so-unimpressed by it...

NO.

The last time I trashed PGR3 was before the first ever gameplay video showing the inside camera. That was it for me. Not to mention I always believed the game would be great, I just wanted to see the jump in graphics........and that came when the gameplay video got on the net. So no, you don't know what you are talking about.

@ Blim:

May I ask what type of 720p capture hardware you have ordered?
I'm interesting in capturing hi-res vids by myself and therefore currently looking for proper hardware.

Heh. Fair enough, I stand corrected. You were quite a pest some time ago on the forums... Bitching at something so insignificant as the Sagaris' polygonal wheel wells... I still resent that one you know

LOL, well it was TEH FACT. That picture did have some pretty ugly wheel arches, but it all turned good and that's what matters. I criticized the game badly 'cause I love the series and I was just expecting the best. I have MSR, PGR and PGR2. PGR3 is my definitive launch game.

That it did, but the car was never modeled with the intention to see it that close and it shows...

Is this the 100% build on a standard TV?

Well, commenting on how it presents 360 software, I think you need to up the resolution a fair bit before it does the games justice. From a pure video standpoint at that resolution, I think it looks great.

The cockpit view is amazing, but I think third person would work better for cone challenges.

Yeah the 840x472 is a lot clearer. Even when maximised to near full screen.

Wow, that is expensive equipment. The videos look great though, I'm looking forward to more PGR3 goodness.

What's up?
  • digi_matrix
digi_matrix Paranormal Activity was insane, totally deserves being the most profiting indie film ever made. I saw the original version, not the theatrical one. WAY BETTER! (2 Hours ago)
  • SimonM7
SimonM7 Nope, no such prestige I'm afraid. Just 1½ year of comic making and ICQ channel community on quakenet of all places. :) 2002 doesn't sound far back but it's soon 8 years ago. Time sure does roar past. (8 Hours ago)
  • Megido
Megido Did you make comics and stuff for kong back in the day? The art looks similar :) (9 Hours ago)
  • SimonM7
SimonM7 Thanks a lot, it's great to hear that it's appreciated. :) (10 Hours ago)

  • SimonM7
SimonM7 Thanks :D and yeah I do. M7 was originally a webcomic, and the idea now is to make it a bit of an entertainment blog in general and a webcomic. Only done two strips so far since I rebooted it in may. (10 Hours ago)
  • alimokrane
alimokrane @SimonM7: Dude That's amazing. Do u draw that stuff ?? (11 Hours ago)
