Xbox 360

Rockstar released this first trailer of their first next-gen game, the aptly name Table Tennis. The animation and modeling is really impressive. Can't wait to play this one.

Have you seen Jurassic Park? That's 13 year old CGI, and we're still not even close to that.
thats what tim sweenie, epic lead designer ,said at e3....most of the jurassic park scenes were acted with plastic dinosaurs...the ones with cgi dinosaurs are worse than what u can actually achieve on geforce 6 series, both shaders and triangles wise...if u look at the old geforce6 mermaid demo(cant remember the name exactly)...she was built with more than 300k triangles(the jurassic park t-rex was built with about 70k triangles) with shading that wasnt simply present in 1993....
i could even cite pgr3 with cars that range from 80 to 100k triangles each one...and u can have 8 of them on screen at once...again with shaders complexity impossible in 1993....and with a whole background....that alone make me trust sweenie s words

From a technical standpoint, yes. But, I think he means the believeabilty of that level. In almost all circumstances on modern games you can tell it isn't real. But the Jurrasic Park series still looks damned awesome today.

Yes, yes it does..OT but Stan Winston Studios did amazing animatronic work on that movie too..that's not to say that the CG was a slacker..Stan Winston's just a different sort of visual effects master. "Plastic dinosours" hehe..they're more like giant robots than they are action figures :)

Tim Sweeney said that because because he wants to hype his games. UT2007 and Gears may look great for video games, but they are not on the level of Jurassic Park CGI. I don't care how many polygons they use in their models. It just doesn't look as good.
