Portal trailer

Portal trailer

Valve just released this first trailer of Portal, their very experimental first person puzzle game announced with the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of Half Life 2/Team Fortress 2. Clearly Prey gave the Valve developers some very nice ideas about how use this cool technology.

Jesus! They've taken the idea of sovling puzzles with portals and really ran with it. There is some pretty complex stuff there. 0.o

I don't know why people are raving about the graphics. Its a very simple environment with not a lot going on. The only standout feature graphics wise is the focus blur applied to to the weapon. The fire effect is shit, to be honest, and the rest is just some nice modelling, coupled with good lighting.

This HL2 pack with all the extra stuff is looking much more intruging.

Doom_Bringer @GriftGFX: well Dragon age extracted is suppose to be arround 20 gigs but the download was only 8 gigs or 15 gigs...procedure might be different for newer games (8 Hours ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX 45 minutes for this game would have to be like... 3+ megabytes per second. My Comcast can't do that. (9 Hours ago)

GriftGFX My FFOW DL is almost 12.9 gigs and like 95% done. (9 Hours ago)

GriftGFX Steam appears to download extracted and installed, there's no install process once you finish downloading a game. (9 Hours ago)
  • Doom_Bringer
Doom_Bringer D2D file right now is 9.2 GB's. I think it was less when I was downloading it (now its extracted) I am pretty sure Steam works the same way. 12 gb is probably the extracted size :P (9 Hours ago)
