Finally it's here, the much hyped Blue Dragon. I've only played a little so far, but I'm not disappointed at all. What a beautiful and fun game! Our complete impressions will have to wait for Gamersyde Diaries 3, but I'll already let you enjoy the first part of the game's long introduction. Parts 2 and 3 (and maybe 4) will be uploaded during the week-end. Update: The second part is now online, with some fights, a bit of exploration and of course lots of cutscenes. Update 2: Third and last part available, with some hilarious robot-parrot thing and finally the shadows! Update 3: I've been asked numerous times for yet another part so there it is, this time you'll get to see a bit more of the fighting and exploration system, and the first boss!
This game also officially kicks off our official partnership with the excellent import shop Play-Asia, that will supply us with import games for your enjoyment. If you can't wait for the official US release of Blue Dragon, I highly recommend buying it from them. I've been a customer for years before we started working together and I've never had a single complaint.
Yup just got mine, after chasing it around the country, the graphics in this game are stunning, still can't get over how good it looks and the cutscenes.
Needless to say i died on the first battle as i didn't know I was supposed to attack the red light.. d'oh.
Blim! would it be possible for you to just post some game case shots? front, back and maybe how the game dvd looks ? the manual cover? just to see how it all looks like?
Glad to know you are enjoying it, everytime i see it, just brings me memories of all the good times i had playing dragon quest 8
What part of that was CG and what part wasn't?
The game looks extremely cool, but I don't know if I could get through 50 hours of turn based random battles.

He even I have a hard time saying what's realtime or not from time to time in this game, it looks so good :)
As for random battles, there are none. You can pretty much avoid every fights if you want to.
Good music, horrible everything else. Though two questions spring to mind: Why even bother with FMV, and why the annoying voice going "item," "playable," etc?

Uh oh, the gates have been opened!
But seriously, I was kind of confused with some of the switching between playable and CGI. Like some of those parts, you would walk like 3 feet, then it kicked back into CGI. But on a plus, the switch from real-time and CGI was hard to notice. Great stuff MW

Hmmm sounds great, i wonder if you can avoid Boss battles, that would be quite funny, but i seriously doubt it :D

Just say you dislike rpg's.
How can you think what you seen so far was horrible.
Did you understand what they said?
It's a rpg with over 40-60 hour gameplay much event and story to be played out during.
i like how the in-game cuts and the CG ones are not very different, it keeps it on a pretty even level of quality..so you dont have those moments where you are like that looks just breathtaking, then it goes back to in-game and you are like ok.........so instead you feel the entire game is in a high level of quality.
the CG is basically the same as the in-game but with better lighting//animation/articulation..i like it, in fact, they could have done them all in-game and done away with 1 of the discs...but i do see why they used CG for some of the scenes...
Awesome video blim! Man this game looks so incredible. This game can't come to the USA soon enough.
Sakaguchi and Mistwalker are already off to an incredible start. Seamless cuts between fmv and gameplay seem to be a nice little trademark of Mistwalker titles thus far. This is of course judging from Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon.

anybody remember unreal tournaments answer to couter-strike? i think it was a mod called special forces? I remember liking it (38 minutes ago)
Slabs
Infantry in FFOW is alright as long as you're a bazooka dude. (43 minutes ago)

@GriftGFX: I played the demo long time ago :P Any for me Dice > IW, the only great game IW made was Medal of Honor Allied Assualt and that's it. I don't care about them, never will! (44 minutes ago)
GriftGFX
Yea but you also said the infantry combat in FFOW was good.. and it blows :P (47 minutes ago)
Doom_Bringer
@digi_matrix: yea the demo I played was awful...but that was single player. I was in the beta for WaW and didn't like it...felt like counter strike + unreal tournament (movement is too fast) (48 minutes ago)
GriftGFX
@digi_matrix: Controls... better... Halo? Does not compute. (50 minutes ago)
Burglarize
Definitely agree on the Counterstrike comment. Damn I used to love that game. Ruined my sleeping pattern for the entirety of my school life. (51 minutes ago)
