Bethesda released the following images of the expansion pack "Shivering Isles", for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. I just started playing the first one myself again, and I can't wait for the new shader patch that is rumoured/confirmed to be released before the expansion pack's release.

Bethesda needs to quit working on Oblivion expansions and get their stuff together for the next ES game. I don't want another Oblivion. I want another Morrowind, dammit.

The Oblivion Engine isnt bad it just needs a lot of teawking and what made me dislike oblivion compared to morrowind was the content and how most of it was presented. I would also rather have them build a new engine because the experence would be completely different then building on the same engine.

There were 2 large expansions on top of Morrowind, so don't think for a second that they won't do the same for Oblivion...

What's this new shader patch everyone keeps talking about?

Nothing. It has to do with the n00b artist who created ugly, tiled distant grass textures and ugly, brown, blury distant landscaping textures, getting outdone by random PC modders in five minutes.

SO, they are supposedly going to update the ps3 version with a few tweaks, and also the 360 version with a patch, to correct some of this. No biggie.

These pictures look so good. I love the new art style and all. And yeah, after this, I want to see a TRUE sequel to Morrowind as well. As much as I LOVE Oblivion, Morrowind was better....and far less n00b-friendly.

I agree that Morrowind was great thanks to the much harder gameplay, but I hope they keep expanding Oblivion. But instead of giving us a small set of dungeons, I want ENORMOUS expansion packs with 40-80hours of content minimum, and lots of new places.

I like the game over Morrowind anyday.I dont see why ppl keep putting it down. The way you control ur character is better than ever. I bet you guys are complaning because of the fast travel, the way they tell you where to go and etc. Well you don't have to fast travel and if they had an option that lets you turn off the directions would you guys be satisfied. Well if you guys hate it so much just email Bethesda and maybe ask them to make a patch that allows you to keep the directions on or turn them off.

Eh, I hope they take their time, personally. I wouldn't want another Elderscrolls in the same generation--I would prefer it if the next installment in the series blows Oblivion away, and we're not getting that if they rush it.

Well, since you brought it up: There are user-made patches to remove the dumbass popups and compass arrows which pretty much play the entire game for you. I only wish this were available for the 360.

I mean of course Oblivion has much better controls and whatnot. Everything is better in Oblivion, except the gameplay. Yeah everything was clunky garbage in Morrowind, but the gameplay was just better. I think so anyway. And this has nothing at all to do with a fast-travel map. You could practically fast-travel anywhere you wanted to in Morrowind too anyway, by way of those silt striders and boats and stuff..lol

If everything in Oblivion didn't level with you, it would have been a lot better. It's SOOOO n00bed-out for casual gamers. But, it still rules though.

Bethesda are currently working on Fallout 3, hope they do not fu*k it up as they did with the Star Trek games...

Ok I say everyone in this rooms writes to Bethesda and ask them to make a patch that allows us to turn off or leave the compass arrows.

Yeah, and they could call it the "unN00bified Mode" Woohoo!

Yeah, it's sad how you never really achieve anything in Oblivion, since everything scales (and not even in any interesting way). Also a game with a difficulty slider that you can adjust whenever you wish is just terribly bad game design.

That's why it's hard to see any justification for these expansions, even though I've tried all the others. Without playing around (for no gains) with the difficulty slider, I don't see this offering any new challenge or interesting gameplay at all.

No disk version for the 360. Me no buy!

What's up?
  • Zomoniac
Zomoniac @dingleberry doesn't matter, if you score with both shots and defend successfully all game it's still a win. Shouldn't have been 6-2 to Liverpool as shots mean nothing if they don't go in. (1 Hour ago)
  • dingleberry
dingleberry Birmignham 2 shots on goal, 11 men behind the ball. Should have been about 6 - 2 to Liverpool. Rafa's going nowhere. (2 Hours ago)
  • Slabs
Slabs @blmbox: Keep Rafa At Pool. Love him talking bollocks. Also refs are having too much influence on results, we need video refs ASAP, the time "lost" would be less than player protests now! (3 Hours ago)
  • blmbox
blmbox I've got to say, it's funny to see Liverpool resorting to cheating in order to pick up a point against one of the league's lesser sides. Surely Rafa's days are numbered? (3 Hours ago)
  • Haig07
Haig07 Well Flashforward was boring again. Is it a full season or is it a nice short 16 episode one? I can't be arsed watching any more :I (3 Hours ago)
  • GeRaLTo
GeRaLTo @Baleur: dunno what easy is ... (3 Hours ago)
  • Frozpot
Frozpot Broncos and Steelers. TONIGHT! :8... (3 Hours ago)
