How 'realistic' can you get with a skating game without you actually physically skating, anyway?
You can change the buttons around so that its more difficult to pull off a kickflip rather than just pushing X and to the left.

In Tony Hawk you can flip 15 stairs first try, of course it's fun, but a little bit of competition never hurt anybody ! Can't believe I'm anticipating an EA game o_O...
But instead of going into slow-motion, you do it in realtime...
