Finally it's done and written, Castelvania Symphony of the Night will be available next wednesday on XBLA. Hell of a good news ! And because everything has to be perfect today, here are fourty screenshots of the beast. Nevertheless, shame on the lost soul who dared to capture these images in upgraded graphics mode...
Journey Into the Darkness With “Castlevania: Symphony of Night” on Xbox Live Arcade
Celebrate more than two decades of the Castlevania franchise by reliving (or experiencing for the first time) one of the series’ most highly regarded games. The legendary 2D side-scrolling action adventure game from Konami Digital Entertainment, “Castlevania: Symphony of Night,” will be available for download on Xbox Live Arcade for Xbox 360 beginning Wednesday, March 21 at 0900 GMT (2 a.m. PDT).
The Castlevania franchise is well known for delivering exceptional quality in all elements that make a great game – story, music, level design, character development, gameplay and controls. In “Castlevania: Symphony of Night,” the 12th iteration of the series, gamers take on the role of Alucard, the half-vampire son of the blood-drinker Dracula, as he ventures into his infamous father’s foreboding castle. Along the way, Alucard must collect items, weapons and armor to defeat the powerful boss monsters that block access to key areas of the castle.
“Castlevania: Symphony of Night” is the first full console classic to appear on Xbox Live Arcade and offers dozens of hours of non-linear action RPG gameplay. “Castlevania: Symphony of Night” will be available worldwide for 800 Microsoft Points and is rated T for Teen (Animated Blood and Violence).

By synce:Castlevania for N64 was better, but this is good too.
Yeah it sounds like someone has the "i want to be different attitude" and cant just buck up and say that the best one is the best one... the 64 version is one of the worst games ever and even konami said that it sucked...funniest thing ive heard all day!!!!!!!! No offense and im not trying to be rude but thats what i get from your post. Just calling it like i see it
Yeah, for the enhanced graphics they didn't redo any of the artwork. I think they made a filter that sort of tries to guess things are supposed to be curves or diagonal lines and uses the higher resolution to draw a better curve/diagonal.
I've seen a feature like that in some emulators before, too. So it still looks like the same sprites, but a little less blocky.
Graphic improvements? Was that a touch of irony? Looooovvvvvved castelvania IV on my old snes, completing it was mental hard but it was such a great game. If i ever get live im up for a quick whipping.
hmm, the enhanced mode's filtering looks a bit too much. then again, on an hdtv w/o this filtering it would look a bit too pixelated.
looking real forward to this one, since i've only played the DS games in the series. was going to play on an emulator(ps1&ps2 broke), but now there's this :)
Posted by samhain81 800MS for an offline game? abit steep dont you think? might as well just buy the ps1 original.
Game goes for like 35 bucks or more on ebay soooo, I'd imagine 10 bucks to have easy access to the game on your 360 is not a bad deal.
I'll buy it because this is my favorite game ever made and thusly I must buy it like a blind fanboy. Though with some of Konami's recent efforts on XBLA games, I'm a touch worried about it. The "enhanced graphics" don't look like anything more than supereagle filtering turned on.
I'll buy it because trying to get this game in the UK, is madness. It goes for at least £50 here, most likely higher, especially with the sound track CD too. (That's what, $100+?). £7 is small-fry compared to £50 ;P
Plus it finishes off my Castlevania collection too.
SOTN was like the best castleroid type of game for me. As for the classic platform style castlevania, dracula x for the pc-engine was the best IMO. I wonder though, will this game include the few extras that were in the saturn version?

Paranormal Activity was insane, totally deserves being the most profiting indie film ever made. I saw the original version, not the theatrical one. WAY BETTER! (5 Hours ago)

Nope, no such prestige I'm afraid. Just 1½ year of comic making and ICQ channel community on quakenet of all places. :) 2002 doesn't sound far back but it's soon 8 years ago. Time sure does roar past. (12 Hours ago)

Did you make comics and stuff for kong back in the day? The art looks similar :) (12 Hours ago)

Thanks :D and yeah I do. M7 was originally a webcomic, and the idea now is to make it a bit of an entertainment blog in general and a webcomic. Only done two strips so far since I rebooted it in may. (14 Hours ago)
