Three games for XBLA this week?

Three games for XBLA this week?

Microsoft proudly announces that we would be blessed with three games on XBLA this week, and while it's technically true it's only 2 releases like usual now. On one side we'll get the much awaited Catan, and on the other the remakes of Centipede/Millipede. Lots of screens inside.

I hope this dual release schedule keeps up. Seems like they have a steady flow of games coming through now. I'll probably give Catan a try though I've no idea how to play it!

really good to see microsoft keeping up with 2 releases per week, it puts much more emphasis on the xbla going forward, something it has lacked for a while to me

and while glad to see more games being added, neither of these interests me a great deal

I hope that having 2 games in one week won't make there be more weeks without an XBLA release in.
It's nice to have more than 1 a week though as you can choose which you like better :)

Catan looks interesting, although I've never played it myself...
Centi- & Millipede seem pretty boring though, good they're bundled for 400 MSP

Is it me, or that Boat icon and Shield icon in Catan screens indicate that it might include the expansions (Or they being released as seperate DLC, ugh)

"Shield" icon looks like it's for Discovery cards. Dunno about the boat...

'3... is the magic number'

Centipede and Millipede could well do with a rollerball control.

Old arcade games aren't better on a new console. They should stop doing that, because I don't like it. And I'm the only one that's important. :)

I bought Pinball FX last week..

XBL Arcade is a great thing for the more casual crowd.. It just needs more original games and more variety in games aswell next to the classics..

Catan looks good.. Now they need to make Risk and Monopoly etc.. or 3D Chess, or Stratego.. Plenty of classic boardgames to go..

Tbh the games on XBLA are a programming joke, i've bought Worms, Street Fighter and dig dug, the latter being the only one where the computers programming hasn't been so poor that it can figure out exactly what you are doing or hit you with pin point accuracy, its a joke.

MS is doing a great job with XBLA at the moment. Catan sounds/looks very interesting. Love that theres now multiple titles every week. I hope they can keep this up in the future.

What's up?
  • digi_matrix
digi_matrix Paranormal Activity was insane, totally deserves being the most profiting indie film ever made. I saw the original version, not the theatrical one. WAY BETTER! (3 Hours ago)

SimonM7 Nope, no such prestige I'm afraid. Just 1½ year of comic making and ICQ channel community on quakenet of all places. :) 2002 doesn't sound far back but it's soon 8 years ago. Time sure does roar past. (9 Hours ago)
  • Megido
Megido Did you make comics and stuff for kong back in the day? The art looks similar :) (10 Hours ago)

SimonM7 Thanks :D and yeah I do. M7 was originally a webcomic, and the idea now is to make it a bit of an entertainment blog in general and a webcomic. Only done two strips so far since I rebooted it in may. (12 Hours ago)
