Wasn't Silent Hill 2 a showcase title for PS2? Because this looks bad... Anyway, visual horrors (movies or games) are not my thing, so I'll leave it at that.

Not as good looking as I would have hoped. They should be making a huge effort with DoF and shaders, it just looks like the PSP game upscaled.

You gotta love the atmosphere ... I dont care about graphics when it comes to silent hill it's all about the sppokiness of it all . I cant wait!

looks pretty damn good for a game that wont be released for another year. i never finished a silent hill game because how freaked i always got from them, hopefully it will change when this comes out.

not that i want it to be less scarier then the last games, just wishing i might be addicted to this game just enough for me to finish it haha

A bit disappointing for a game that's exclusively on next gen consoles. SH3 looked incredible IMO, and was the best SH game graphically...it still holds up today, especially the PC version.

I love SH, especially the first one. Wow, THAT was an experience, 'till today one of my absolute FAV games!
2+3 were great, too. But I never bought the 4th title, boring and far away of the class of the original.
But for this one, I'm looking forward. New Consoles, new hope. I think its gonna rock!!!

the first Silent Hill is the best horror game EVER!

I love all the other SH games as well though The room was not so good. Well, actually The Room is not a SH game, it was meant to be announced as "a game from the creators of SH" but in the end the marketing people decided that It would sell much more calling it "SH. THE ROOM" but it is not a real SH.

I'll love this for absolutely sure. At first in the teaser I was like "oh, so they're making Jacob's Ladder: The Game after all these years of hinting at Jacob's Ladder-ness?" and then he said "I just don't want to" and it gave me the chills! :O

Resident Evil 5, Dead Rising 2, Condemned 2, and Silent Hill 5 what a great horror lineup I can't wait :).

Uh yeah, Dead Rising2 will be fun. Any news if it's still 360-exclusive?? Or may I hope it's also coming for PS3?!?!?!?!

@polly: Ah, so that's the reason, because everybody I know who played the first ( and it's a lot of people) really do not like the 4th!!! Can't really explain why, the game lost on athmosphere and ideas...

The fourth wasn't a "true" Silent Hill game per se, but the *sitation* in that game was awesome.

It was all combat though with almost no puzzles which meant it was a rubbish Silent Hill game (and almost a rubbish game overall) but the story and the way it developed was fantastic. Easily one of the more interesting and bizarre of the series in my humble opinion, even though they all share that excellent sense of melancholy.
