Well, this already looks a lot better than the older screens. The only thing making me insane are those trees on screen 17. Hm, Suzuka Circuit is a little bit boring to show some screens, but however. I'm waiting for news. Still interested into GT.

LMAO at the trees on pic 17

and 'forza who??'...!!!
i wouldnt say that just yet!!!

i dont think they will put as much time into the handling and physics as they did with forza. the graphics on this are AMAZING, almost photo realism.
but i think forza will be more FUN to playn with the steering wheel aswell, because all the cars feel so different.

but this trailer, dispite some lame trees, is very impressive .
its danm pretty

That video is phenomenal. It's as good as Crysis! (although Crysis does have better trees than those laughable cross things).

GT car models really slap all other racing games around all day long. I have no idea why nobody else can nail them like Polyphony can.

Holy shit, just saw the 16 new screens. How many cars are there at the same time on the screen?? now, THATS impressiv, at that detail level of the cars... WOW. How do they manage to keep up the frame rate properly?! Yeah, Polyphony really is THE team for modelling cars... Impressiv...

Yamauchi said there will be 20 cars at same time

It isnt all about graphics i think.... Im a GT fan but i think Forza 2 is much better than GT cos the cars phisics and general gameplay.... Forza 2 rocks but surely GT5 will rock too ^^

I believe it's the artistic choice they made, what makes the cars look so real. I mean the reflections are not the same on diffrent parts of the car (some are mat and the highlights on the cars are dim and very soft). If you compare this to Forza you'll see what I mean.

Here is a good example:

Anyone thinking the same?

The thing that buggs me is that there will be no damage. Not being able to achive realism is just a lame excuse for not having to get the licenses and put more work into the game...

Looks amazing.

"GT car models really slap all other racing games around all day long. I have no idea why nobody else can nail them like Polyphony can."

Its because the cars have no damage, they dont have to worry about what damage will do to the car model etc. GT's cars have always looked mint due to never taking damage, plus japanese artists are some of the best out there.

They said they're looking to include damage in thisg ame, stop moaning about lack of car damage until they confirm it as not being in.

looks fantastic, but i miss the customization like forza 2 and where is lamborghini?
Commented on 2007-07-17 14:49:25
I don't think it should be compared with Forza 2 considering Forza 2 is already out.. and we don't know when GT5 will be released... as many times as they delay things.

now i´ve seen these new 1080p images and they look ugly without anti aliasing, but the level of detail of the cars is awsome
Commented on 2007-07-17 14:56:12
They would be idiots if the graphics had not such a quality...180 days(6 months)per car...This is the big deal...

And plz no comparisons betwwen gt5-forza2..The real comparison is gt5-pgr4...
Commented on 2007-07-17 14:57:54
if you got GTHD demo you know that the aliasing is not visible in 1080p at the car select screen. it does look ugly on the screens but its almost perfect in the real game. most impressive carmodels ever if you ask me.

@jedi: its already confirmed that there wont be damage in GT5 "maybe we will add this feature in the future with a patch"...

This makes Forza 2 look like crap. I can't wait.

Im quite convinced that GT5 will be the best looking driving game to date, period. They were always ahead of competition. Keeping that in mind, they will not have any visual damage to the cars, and that is my main disappointment factor. Sure they will argue that a good driver would not damage their car, but that is bull, people crash in F1, Ferrari Challange, DMT and so on, there is always that need of a scratch on the car just for the realistic aspect.

I am looking forward to this game though, just for the sake of technology. If I buy PS3 at some point, this game will be in my library.

Whoa, theres like 10 stock colors to choose from for each car!! SWEET! Thats almost as cool as thousands of layers of hand painted decals, and vynals in Fora 2.

You show me another game that updates physics 300 times per second for 2000 different physic points for each of the 8 vehicles on a track at once, with visuals running at 60 frames per second.

Graphics? GT5 for the win. For everything else, theres Forza 2.

I find that I never pay attention to other people's paint jobs in FM2, but that's me. And while I agree that Forza beats GT in the car handling department, GT5 will feature more cars to choose from, more tracks, weather effects, cockpit view, and the single player experience should be much better. In the end it's all about fun. To me, GT5 sounds more fun and just plain looks better.

Looks fuck'n amazing.

its strange, even though I find driving in real life rather boring, I enjoy this game

GriftGFX Maybe.. it's different for pre-loaded stuff too. (59 minutes ago)
  • Doom_Bringer
Doom_Bringer @GriftGFX: well Dragon age extracted is suppose to be arround 20 gigs but the download was only 8 gigs or 15 gigs...procedure might be different for newer games (1 Hour ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX 45 minutes for this game would have to be like... 3+ megabytes per second. My Comcast can't do that. (1 Hour ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX My FFOW DL is almost 12.9 gigs and like 95% done. (1 Hour ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX Steam appears to download extracted and installed, there's no install process once you finish downloading a game. (1 Hour ago)
  • Doom_Bringer
Doom_Bringer D2D file right now is 9.2 GB's. I think it was less when I was downloading it (now its extracted) I am pretty sure Steam works the same way. 12 gb is probably the extracted size :P (1 Hour ago)
