GC07: 54 seconds of Halo 3

We are a bit sorry about releasing such a rather uninteresting and short video of Halo 3, but it's better than nothing I guess. So here are 54 seconds, intro included, of the single player mode of Halo 3, from the now famous level Tsavo Highway. We hope to get some more soon, and we'll have multiplayer footage online within the next hour or so.

ok, consider me half converted, graphics in that looked pretty nice...but i think that was mainly the lighting more then anything

just a question, but why does the door in this pic look like its been drawn by a child?
Watch the video and quit comparing a screenshot from a non direct feed video. It doesn't look like that in motion.

Argh who's with the on/off thumbstick. Seriously.. less caffeine.

But the montage.. wow it's looking superb! Sharpest textures in history. I hope the sp campaign has lots of driving sections cause I liked those the most in both prequels.

And I always relate that halo music to orinico flow.. mm....

Honestly, why do people constantly look at piss poor images and video of this game and think it looks something special? This game is ok, visually. Nothing amazing. Nothing great. It's just OK. It looks barely better than Halo 2, and if I'm correct, it was just built on a extension of the Halo 2 engine. Hardly next gen, now is it. Face it, all you Halo fan boys. If this game fails to live up to expectation, and it's no better than the borefest that was Halo 2, then the whole Halo frannchise can be marked down as nothing but a one hit wonder. Halo 1 was great. This MUST better it or it's being chalked down as another overhyped peice of shit.

looks nice, but i gotta say, the indoor dark environments blow the daylight bright environments out the water. the lighting from the flashlights/floodlights/warthogs looks insane. outdoors tho it just looks like the beta to me.
This is another thing. A Beta? How long now is it until this game is out, yet no one wants to accept that what you see here is what you will get. This is almost certainly the fully realised game here, folks. Stop making excuses and saying it's only beta. If they wanted to build hype for this game, do you think they'd constantly be showing a rough build of the game right up until it's nearly out? I don't think so.

yeh same here i not much of fan of that either, but i did chuckle at the thought that flash light technology hadnt progressed.
All I was thinking was that suit should be geared up with some more inovative ideas, like Halo 2 they brought dual welding weapons.
Inovative, eh? Duel weilding weapons came out way back in the N64 days in Goldeneye, like 10 years ago.

He clearly wasn't making an excuse and saying that it was beta. He was doing the opposite and saying it wasn't impressive due to the fact that it *looks* like the beta that most of us played.

I personally think it looks fantastic and doesn't require any excuses.
