Exactly!
Seeing how the experts pwn the rabble and trying to learn from what they do. This could actually make me a better Halo player. Replays are a fantastic feature!
Graphically the game looks pretty good. As good as Crysis, Killzone 2, COD 4, Bioshock? No. But certainly it's a marked improvement over Halo 2. It definitely ain't Halo 2.5. It looks next-gen to me.
There are so many new features in Halo 3, I cannot wait.

Still to this day i honestly cannot believe the amount of people that were in doubt of Bungie's amazing abilities after the releases of halo and halo 2, it really is shocking how people expected Halo 3 to flop?

Introduce at least one of them to gaming, lol

I introduced my babe to gaming, in the beginning she couldn't understand what all the fuss was about. When I compared her obsession with shoes to my gaming pursuits she began to understand.

She didn't like everything though, in fact she absolutely hates GTA. But she is just as excited about Halo3 as I am. Ok maybe not AS excited as I am, but she's getting there. lol

Gaming seems to have become the new couch sport for couples because all of my friends are doing it.

Yeah, my GF and I used to always play Halo 2 online together, it was one of our favorite pastimes. But I cancelled my XBL subscription a while ago since nothing was really that good, but now that Halo 3 is coming, we're sure to spend more time playing games online.

I saw the first update and was REALLY impressed by every second of the footage- but I'm calling it quits now. There's just TOO much stuff coming out that will take away from the 'DAY ONE' experience. I don't want to be playing on the 25th (at 1a.m. more than likely) and be thinking 'oh yea- I saw this part!'. I want to be completely surprised and just FLOORED by what I'm seeing. From the stuff I've peeked at... yea- I'll be plenty impressed!

can't WAIT... (well... no actually, I can- that's the point of why I'm not looking now!)

Well I think that can be argued. Perhaps the graphics of the first person view (i'm talking the details of the guns etc.) aren't the most amazing graphics you'll ever see, but the environments look absolutely superb, spesh the one outdoors with the desert kind of look.

Those games you mention, I don't think they'll offer you as much in terms of content etc. (although we'll have to wait and see), but they probably do edge it graphically those games, but not by much. Plus, Crysis is a game for a powerful PC.

But I do agree that its certainly not Halo 2.5, which a lot of people were expecting. It's most certainly next gen :D

I dont believe the gilf in quality between pc and console gaming is as vast as many seem to suggest I have played both the pc and the 360 versions of Bioshock and must say that other than slightly better textures on the pc the 2 seem nigh on identical and I have a 8800 gts card that alone costs more than an xbox 360. For the cost to benifit ratio the xbox comes out on top every time and has the advantage on most games of locked rame rates rather than the variable rates suffered by most pc games.

no worries dude, just thought it was but unfair. Halo 3 looks on, but it doesn't blow me away like Gears of War did for instace.

Well, keep in mind that Bioshock on PC can run on higher resolution than 360, you get keyboard and mouse (lol yeah!), twice as many particle effects and phisics are better as well. Also since you played them both you should have noticed that you get more dialog on PC game. One of the main reason for this is not only power of the hardware but also the fact that PC doesn't have same bottleneck as 360, being streaming. On PC everything is on your HDD so data can load faster AND more... Supriced you didn't notice that as I did...
