People forget the AA in the 360 Hardware, I believe it's 4x.
I dont know hw it works, or if it was a PR lie before the 360 came out, but seems like it doesnt really work without the developer having to code it in, OR it doesnt work very well.
Now, about the screenshots: Absolutely AMAZING

The screens are mindblowing. Very much amazing. Even when you note the fact that these are from the photomode they are looking very good. Compare these to the pgr3 photomode ones and you will see that pgr4 has recieved a major overhaul.

Brilliant. Can't wait to play it.

it does work how it was intended, but when youre trying to shove this much graphical detail onto the screen, 10MB embedded isnt enough for 4xFSAA, so they compromise and use 2xFSAA, they could, if they wanted, add software FSAA like they had to do with ps2 (rarely i might add) but its simply not worth it, 720p, 2xFSAA, its fine aslong as your playing it at a native resolution on a tv/monitor, and forcing the tv to scale the image (ie 16:10 monitor)

Erm not quite. The 10MB EDRAM isn't big enough to fit in 720p with 2 or even 4xMSAA unless the developers use tiling (splitting the image up into 2-4 tiles). The advantage of the 360 is that the ED-RAM and tiling API is very very quick so you can do this with only a minimal performance impact, like 2-4%. Hence the "free" AA.

PGR3 didn't use it because it was a launch title and they had to have their engine up and running well before the hardware was finalised.

Most games should be able to implement AA without too much difficulty. The problem with most LCD Tv's at least is that you're almost never playing at the native resolution of the panel, hence jaggies from 2xAA look slightly worse.

PGR4 still looks amazing so I wouldn't worry :)

even with tiling, 10MB isnt enough when youre cramming shit loads on screen, give and take, find the best solution, or in sony speak, 1080p or you die

After all these stunning shots, any noticeable ingame jaggies will be a real shame.

Well luckily AA works a lot better in motion than in a screenshot. ;)

And even better: It's a racing game, so you won't have time to stop and test for jaggies. :P

Yes we know that game is coming too but you could just use some GT5 thread to talk about that game. This thread is about the awesomeness of the PGR4 :)
