They referred to her as "he".... For such a detailed game, changing the male/female references shouldnt be overlooked!

There's one reference where I think you might have gotten it mistaken where one of the pilots say how he, the captain, always sounds pissed. The ship's captain is Captain Anderson (the older male character featured as a main character in the book and voiced by Keith David), whereas your character is Commander Shepard.
