Images of Pixel Junk Racers

Pixel Junk Racers, a racing videogame similar to MicroMachines, will be offered for the Playstation Network in the last quarter of 2007, probably in November according to developer Q-Games. Even if it sports a minimalist look, the effort does not stop me from thinking about all these hours spent creating my own tracks made of plastic under the Christmas tree. Memories, memories.

I played the demo (us store) and its fun. But you need a really huge screen to play it, my 37" is too small for that kind of game.

Before I had any actual videogame systems, I had a little handheld mechanical game with gameplay like this (move along set tracks)...

Not really a complement.

Looks more similar to the old DOS favorite "Slicks 'n Slide" or the mentioned Turbo Sliders, both made by my countrymen.

Speaking of which, Remedy had a weapon-racing top-down racer called Death Rally which was pretty good stuff. They should convert that to XBLA/PSN

I agree, this makes me think of "Slicks n Slide" or maby a zoomed out version of Death Rally. Fun games both of them. Don't own a PS3 so I won't be playing this one though.

Can't say I was impressed by the demo, far better off just buying scalectrix

  • digi_matrix
digi_matrix Paranormal Activity was insane, totally deserves being the most profiting indie film ever made. I saw the original version, not the theatrical one. WAY BETTER! (2 Hours ago)

SimonM7 Nope, no such prestige I'm afraid. Just 1½ year of comic making and ICQ channel community on quakenet of all places. :) 2002 doesn't sound far back but it's soon 8 years ago. Time sure does roar past. (8 Hours ago)

Megido Did you make comics and stuff for kong back in the day? The art looks similar :) (9 Hours ago)

SimonM7 Thanks :D and yeah I do. M7 was originally a webcomic, and the idea now is to make it a bit of an entertainment blog in general and a webcomic. Only done two strips so far since I rebooted it in may. (10 Hours ago)
