Can't wait until September 27! One thing I can never do is buy a shooting game without playing a demo or renting it first, since I suck at most of them. This one looks interesting enough to try out.

Demo is coming this thursday on PSN and Marketplace and PC.

I am not gonna buy this game, but its a demo and the game looks cool for trying it out.

Kinda looks like a love child if Halo, Turok, Doom3 and Bioshock had some mass orgy...

Seriously...Halo related stuff is making me puke as hell. Every site and forum I go to the bastard is there.

Anyway...sorry Rob but where the hell did you get Halo from for this dark, gory, zombie/undead game.

Halo is to colorful to be in the comparison with this game.

I understand BioShock considering that these character have powers and BioShock have these plasmids.

I understand Doom, dark, creepy, gory as hell.
But Turok...never played it so I can't comment on that one.

I can't stand the Halo hype, either. I'm glad I hate the series (though original was fun) so I don't have to deal with trying to find a copy. Turok, by the way, is just your standard shooter... but with dinosaurs!

Haha all hail to anti-Halo hype :P
But now that the game is out just wait for couple of weeks and everything will cool down.
But there is NO WAY this thread is going to be about Halo.

Yeah Turok seems like your regular sci-fi shooter but with dinosaurs, atleast the new one seems cool. *death knife blows FTW!* :P

Anyway, Jericho isn't my type of game in terms of art...etc. but its a free demo and I know there are alot of people who are looking forward to this game alot.

I've only played the first halo on the pc for about an hour, but it just reminded me of it for some reason, apologies Sath ;)

I don't know ... Jerich totally fails to appeal to me. Looks like Doom meets Wolfenstein meets Hellraiser. With Halo and the Orange Box, I think my FPS winter is too crowded for this.

Ah no problem if its your first Halo title. But I was a Halo fan as well...was.
After Halo 2 I got more and more into Killzone and I consider myself a Killzone fan.

I'm not convinced yet... it looks very boring

Graphically, it looks like Prey - which looked like Quake 4 - which looked like Doom 3 - enforcing the fact the Doom 3 engine is only good at one genre and look.

What's up?
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX I've only played it on PC, but I can't imagine that the XBLA was significantly rougher. I mean, Doom worked on XBLA, and was still mighty playable... so I'm surprised Duke isn't. (1 minute ago)
  • SimonM7
SimonM7 ...I have a lot of respect and fond memories of all those games. They were made with a sense of glee and genuine excitement that you *don't find* anymore. Except in No More Heroes or something. (2 minutes ago)
  • bleachedsmiles
bleachedsmiles or something completely terrible..relying on cheap thrills or naughty words and naked women. Although it is time we had our protagonist start saying cheesy lines after every kill (2 minutes ago)
  • SimonM7
SimonM7 Surprisingly well isn't well enough to play it a whole lot though. I dunno, to each his own obviously but I kinda thought it'd hold up better. The XBLA version was a rude awakening. Regardless... (2 minutes ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX Man, Monolith rocked the 90's so hard. Blood--NOLF--Shogo! They need to revisit some of those properties. (3 minutes ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX It actually holds up surprisingly well for a build engine game, and so does the original Blood. Oh how I'd kill for a *good* sequel to Blood! (5 minutes ago)
  • SimonM7
SimonM7 While I don't think Duke holds up today, the things it did at the time are still massively inspiring to me. Its philosophies could be applied to a game today and create something unique and fantastic. (9 minutes ago)
