Jesper Kyd! :O

I bought Scorcher back in the day largely thanks to his soundtrack for it. He's a bit of a brilliant young man.

With 2 anyway, I sort of thought it ran on fumes after that.

Freedom Fighters was eerily good though. I definitely prefer his music when he weaves in symphonic sounds to go with his characteristic, electronic melodies.

You aint alone on that one :D
I knew he was doing it, I even got like 3-4 promo samples from Assassins Creed by him.

Jesper Kyd isn't bad, as long as he doesn't do electronic kind of stuff, because it doesn't fit that much, maybe in that "futuristic" twist. but once in the crusaders it should be like alot of choir, orchestrals stuff, I was thinking something like Kingdom of Heaven, King Arthur, Gladiator type of scores.

but Jesper knows what he is doing, hell I even listen to his Hitman music now and then, very cool stuff.

I think a real asset of his is that he's putting electronic melodies into his orchestrated stuff too, retaining some personality. I know, the musicians job is to not make people notice the music and all that, but I think that's a load of bollocks. Good game music is a lot better than "good" movie soundtracks, because it's very much its own character.

It's become less so in recent years, most noticable in all the Final Fantasy games where it's all just *symphonic noise* compared to earlier entries. Part of this is because there are so many instruments and "ingredients" that the distinct melodies of old have been phased out, but that doesn't neccessarily have to be true and Jesper Kyd is part of the proof of that.

interesting, I did the same thing. Was he also the one behind those other Scavenger titles like Amok, HardWired, RedZone and Batman & Robin (when they were called Clockwork Tortoise)?

I still listen to the intro sequence from Batman & Robin from time to time ... soooooo genius

  • Doom_Bringer
Doom_Bringer oh yea that, Dragon Age was preloading at the time (5 Hours ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX Maybe.. it's different for pre-loaded stuff too. (5 Hours ago)
  • Doom_Bringer
Doom_Bringer @GriftGFX: well Dragon age extracted is suppose to be arround 20 gigs but the download was only 8 gigs or 15 gigs...procedure might be different for newer games (5 Hours ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX 45 minutes for this game would have to be like... 3+ megabytes per second. My Comcast can't do that. (6 Hours ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX My FFOW DL is almost 12.9 gigs and like 95% done. (6 Hours ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX Steam appears to download extracted and installed, there's no install process once you finish downloading a game. (6 Hours ago)
  • Doom_Bringer
Doom_Bringer D2D file right now is 9.2 GB's. I think it was less when I was downloading it (now its extracted) I am pretty sure Steam works the same way. 12 gb is probably the extracted size :P (6 Hours ago)
