Devil May Cry 4 pulverizes in images

Devil May Cry 4 pulverizes in images

Capcom sent us a shower of images for the beat'em all Devil May Cry 4 on the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. Planned for a February 2008 release on our continent, this mega production will place Nero at the heart of a story where Dante will make some memorable appearances. The environments spread a delectable flavour, so the delay is half forgiven.

Their exotic side remember me Resident Evil 5, which should not be launched before 2009, and that is a real crime.

Actually looks downgraded to me, still looks good though.

Well the first lot of pics do, the later shadowy ones look very good, but they look more like PR shots to me.

I'm glad that some of the enemies from the original are returning. Hopefully it retains some of that difficulty and doesn't go the button masher route of DMC2/3.

these are the first pics we get from these parts of the game, so you cant say it looks downgraded if you havent really seen it before, had they been pics from the cathedral stage or snow level or that big boss fight, then you could perhaps say that, were it the case. Character model i can see what u mean, but it looks great and im looking forward to it, but not as much as NG2 O_o

There is a learning curve...dictionary, library, school...pick one :P
Although I am from Iran I cant read my own language :P

Anyway, DMC4 looks great, nice it is coming out Q1 '08, nice gap between this month to raise some money until early 08 games.

Dmc 3 was no button masher

Looks rather bullshotty what comes to the AA, but Capcom did have great AA in Lost Planet and Dead Rising on the 360 so I will reserve that judgement to the demo. At least they KNOW and are known to have used the free AA unlike so many devs.

Otherwise looking good.

Honestly man, you shouldn't have quoted him on that, we have had sooooo much discussion about if DMC is a button masher or not, and soon enough someone is gonna mention Ninja Gaiden in this thread.

Just avoid such things seriously.

Didn't even know about a jungle level!

Looks great, can't wait

Is there anything better than Plant Woman Snatch?

If he managed to mash his way through DMC3 then all the more power to him! I've seen grown men weep, empires crumble, while attempting the same.

I was worried about this game for a while when it looked like they'd gone all DMC2 serious with it, but when Nero stopped that huge guy's attack by COUNTERING the point of his sword with the point of his own sword my worries were laid to rest. This game is over the top, where it builds a tiny house with another top, and then goes over that aswell and puts on a top hat which they then go.. over.

Oh and downgrade or not, slick 60fps is gonna buy it all back. *karate slaps someone with a slice of pizza and turns on a jukebox with his forehead*

A few of the end shots look pretty good, but everything else looks crap. I'll still get it.

Looks really sweet. Perhaps a bit empty environments some times but then again, in a boss fight you often need that. I must say that the texture work in DMC4 is amazing. Jut look at the texture on the rock in the 11th screen. Looks really good.

So while this my not be the most technical effort i ever saw it still looks really good, particularly from an aesthetical point of view.

My interests for this game flip flops like crazy. After the last exteneded trailer released and these images..I'm definetly leaning towards a positive note.

DMC 4 has been on my must buy list since the day it was announced. I also wanna point out that it's my most anticipated game EVER, no kidding!

Looks good. Hopefully this runs like a treat on 360 due to them using the Dead Rising/Lost Planet engine.
Im hoping its more like the original in gameplay terms rather than the 3rd, which seemed to try and copy Ninja Gaiden rather than stick to its routes.
Not long to go now and hopefully we'll have a demo by the turn of the new year.

What's up?
  • GeRaLTo
GeRaLTo @Baleur: 80% of reviews are written by "drones" .Ign, eurogamer, teamxbox, gamespot etc are nothing but companies. Who cares 'bout theirs "reviews" anyway (35 minutes ago)
  • Baleur
Baleur Why are you discussing reviews anyway? When have reviews ever mattered? They are just individual people writing about their individual opinions. Might as well read reviews on music too then, lol XD (3 Hours ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX pfft text! we only care for numbers (3 Hours ago)
  • blmbox
blmbox Yeah, but judging by the content of both reviews, Eurogamer didn't particularly care much for the game anyway. They probably only gave it an 8 to avoid controversy - the review sounded more like a 6. (7 Hours ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX 6 to 8 split on Eurogamer, which isn't quite as large but still pretty significant. (9 Hours ago)
  • SimonM7
SimonM7 Yeah sure, but from what console reviews are saying it's perfectly adequate. I mean I'm sure PC is the way to go, but I sincerely doubt we're seeing a 5 to 9 split score wise or anything. (9 Hours ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX not that the Xbox version is "that bad" by most accounts either.. there are plenty of people here playing it who adore it.. but the PC game is recieving higher marks across the board (9 Hours ago)
