I love the character design by Takehiko Inoue in this game and it will probably have an interesting storyline, but the turn based combat system is something i got bored at many many years ago.
Could be a smash hit for fans thou.

It looks awesome!I realy like the fact its got a world map,cuz i realy didnt like the ff10 kind of world map(which i thought was gonna be here).Customization looks interesting but too bad it is limited to acessories(rings,earrings,scarf).I would realy like to see different armors...

A Game that can do HAIR with UE3? GOTY!

Looks pretty, for sure. As far as Unreal-powered games go, this one looks the least like one (which is a good thing).

Well, the design is pretty boring i think, the graphics as far as the technical part go hardly makes my jaw drop, the combat seems fairly average for a jrpg these days and the promise of hours upon hours of sequences of the characters yapping away in what is supposed to be a mega-epic story just doesn't talk to me. I mean sure, i'm not a huge fan of the genre, as you might have guessed, and as such i'm hardly the best judge of what is good and not but i just can't see the appeal for this game at all?

edit* About the graphics: I did try Crysis yesterday, so that might have skewed my idea of what is actually decent looking and what looks like ass :P

Yeah it's looking more and more average unfortunately. Wasn't so bad at last year's TGS, but with games like Uncharted, Mass Effect, DMC4, it's just not that impressive anymore. Gameplay looks very last gen also. The only standout thing is the plot. I'm really hoping they don't drop the ball on this one.

I don't understand why it even bothers you. Lots of people wear glasses so why wouldn't game character.

My friend got Eternal Sonata and when I saw the Cut-scenes... gorgeous doesn't do justice to how unique the game looks! I told him that I would rather wait for Lost Odyssey.

Those cut-scenes are past Gen my brothers!

I guess many of you don't know that JRPGs are first and foremost about the stories they tell. In Japan, noone really judges a game by its graphics. The main reason why Final Fantasy XIII (which got kind of boring during the last sequels) will try to feature killer-graphics is: They want to make people play this game who've never tried a JRPG before.

The story and setting of Lost Odyssey is very interesting and I have good hopes that this game will be great fun to experience.

Lost Odyssey has bad graphics now? Weird, I guess I didn't get the memo. Stupid Fax machine!

^^ i was one of few who did enjoy the emo trip that was X i sadly found X/2 enjoyable as well, made me laugh.
