Some Armored Core FA scans

Some Armored Core FA scans

It is Wednesday, favorite day of Famitsu magazine online readers. This week, there's a huge coverage about the videogame Armored Core : For Answer in preparation for the Playstation 3 & Xbox 360. Among the translated information available : an online co-op mode and, for the first time, playable mechas that are fully transformable. The release date is set to March 2008 in JAPAN (sorry!).

AC4 2.0.
And From still manages to not knowing how to make some of their games really great.
Always great mechanics and systems, but creating plot and real objectives to take advantage of the stuff they create, still seams to be their weakest point in all their games.
Always somewhat good, never great.

yes! yes! I loved Armored Core 4!

The release date is fixed to March 2008 in Europe.
is this quote accurate? AC4 wasn't even planned to be released in Europe originally. So i'm supriced this game will be released in Europe so soon.

kinda reminds me of the Ace Combat games with the big bosses and all. But this series is all played out, time to put it to rest IMO

AC 4 wasn't that great, but if they spruce up the graphics a lot and add some variation, then this game will start to be something.

but it bombed on both 360 and PS3 and sold poorly in all three territories

I only tried the demo for AC4 but i must say that i was a bit disappointed with it and as such i'm naturally a bit skeptical about this. But still, it's AC and i like AC so i guess i'll have to keep my eye on it.

The graphics were fine, what it needed was some originality. I've already killed mechs a thousand times in games, and in very similar fashion. The scale of this new AC game seems like it should set it apart from the other games in the sub-genre, and that's a very good thing.

Yeah, the graphics were OK. What turned me off were the clunky feeling controls and general lack of excitement. If it played more like an arcade game like Virtual On or something, I'd enjoy it. So far, the only mech games I enjoy are the Front Mission series, but that's a strategy RPG.

Anyway, graphics still look good..
