The fansite left4dead411.com releases eleven new images of Left 4 Dead, first game of the american developer Turtle Rock, which has been bought recently by Valve Software. The game is planned to be released at the end of the year on Xbox 360 and PC.

Source Engine sure shows its age, but wait until you judge the gameplay. Valve usually has very good taste when it comes to buying a developer (see Portal), and I'm sure Turtle Rock was worth the price.

I don't think the pics are THAT bad.
Remember - we buy a game to play it in motion, not to view still screens.
Pic 8 looks cool though.
Know nothing about this game if i'm being honest, so will have to see some gameplay and look up some info on it to fully judge.

some screens look really good, especially when faces are prominent, but the clothing and most urban environments look really blunt. Zombie's are getting a bit old imo. Never really liked shooting brainless mobs

Yea I want this game bad.. shame it's taking so long. I agree the visuals are a little dated, but the gameplay seems very solid/fun. I'm pretty impressed by this and The Crossing.

Co-op is fun, killing zombies is fun, shooting stuff is fun. This should be fun :D
I admit that the graphics aren't mind blowing technically but they do look pretty nice none the less, due to solid design. It looks rather atmospheric too, but much of it can probably be credited to dramatic camera angles and posed models.
Clearly an interesting game!

Looks like they could beat Dead Rising 2 to the punch, sense the most significant improvements would be co-op and physics.. Than again, is this game going to be more than a GTA clone with a zombie filter.,

I love the source engine, and this game looks pretty good. Considering the age of the engine it stands up beautifully with next gen titles. Crisp clean graphics that don't look about as choppy as Quake II are always nice, and the animations and physics and lighting is pretty good, not to mention the typically good textures =) Looking forward to seeing more of this game.
Oh and the fire, mmmmm... I died so many times on portal marveling at the fire =p

if you hop on over to gametrailers.com and check out some of the videos (in particular the interview with the producer-guy) you'll find that this game will be "like GTA with a zombie filer over it" to about the same extent a ham sandwich is just like a trout.

One thing I dont understand, is that tons of Zombie mods have come out since HL2 was released, and with this game not being a new idea - the fact that it isn't due out till mid-08 is really fucking pathetic. Compare that to the engine, I'm not sure this will even be that interesting to anyone come July.

Several months ago, the 1up show did a video behind the scenes on this game, and they explained and hyped quite a bit, enough for me to go from "who cares about another zombie game" to "I can't wait for that to come out". I'm kinda surprised it has taken so long to get new info, but what I saw back then was very good. The pictures of the zombies running at you isn't nearly as cool as seeing it in motion.
