Vivendi releases ten screenshots of The Bourne Conspiracy, which we haven't heard about since last E3. It's not exactly mind blowing visually, but if the fighting is as dynamic as promised, it could be interesting - and it should, since the game is so damn late.

I hope they pony up for Matt Damon's likeness. As much as the source material is great, the general public visually associate Matt Damon with the character from the recent film adaptations. If the game is decent and misses out on sales because of that they will kick themselves.

the movies looked good and I enjoyed all of them so... but as always, games based on movies generally suck so... but I hope this one will be different

I'm considering this a game based on the novels instead of the movies only cuz for some reason... they style doesn't strike me as from the theatrical releases. But after watching the fighting... I am a bit disappointed; animation moves fluently only when you perform a special move - which can be done very frequently, but overall the fighting reminds me of the Fight Club game.

This IS based on the novels, they've already said so.

They also said that the kids who play videogames didn't read the novels which in return means, they don't care how the Bourne potrayed in the novels is supposed to look like. They're right and that's why these people want to see the Jason Bourne they already know, which is Matt Damon.
Let's be honest, it can't be that difficult to create a 3D Mesh of Matt Damons face and then say include it in the game as unlockable content - so once you played the game through, you'll unlock the movie character you already know - not the voice though (since Matt doesn't seem to be interested in playing Bourne once more).
That would be the easiest way to please all of the fans.

I really really want this game to be good. All they need is to get the combat a bit tighter.
And Snoopers, if you get the chance someday, ask the question that apparently nobody wants to ask regarding this game, the Bourne series are particularly known for their Fight sequences, their cat and mouse chases, and very importantly....their car chases. Where are the car chases in this game? Are they in?
I think it's very important to know that.

One thing is getting a big licence as the Bourne Identity. Another thing is to get the scoop of using a world star actor's likeness in a game.
This happens very rarely, in fact.
It is also a double edged sword imo. I would always think it better not to base a game on an actors likeness. Somehow I have a better experience playing a movie licence if I don't have to believe that I'm actually Jason Bourne played by Matt Damon, who is Jason Bourne... or... yeah... :)

From what I understand, the game is very much a prequel to the movie trilogy, but based around the style of antics from the novel series. I'm a little skeptical of how it'll turn out, but here's hoping. (Y)

I quite like the understated visuals. As you say, if the fighting is as dynamic as promised, it could be a great game!
