Xbox 360 PS3

Are there members who acknowledge being of the Jedi religion here? LucasArts would like to recruit the unbelievers with this new and lenghty video of Star Wars: Force Unleashed in preparation for almost every console out there. Your light saber wielding fantaisies will soon materialize!

Finally a good Star Wars game.
knights of the old republic? Jedi Academy? Battlefront? those werent good?

anyhoo, i seriously enjoy star wars games a lot since the whole star wars thing has so much potential for video games. u could make first person shooters out of this game (which they have done) and it is great. it has everything fun about a game. racing, starship fighting, shooting, melee fighting, and a bunch of other things i cant even think of. this game looks really good and i think it has so much potential. this and GTA IV are my number one choices for the 360 this year.

This game looks awesome. Ya KOTOR was great, but turn base combat was just way too slow

If anything, the Jedi is overpowered. Darth Vader never did any of this stuff and he is supposed to be one of the most powerful Sith Lords around. They should have just let you play as Darth Vader instead of some nobody and hunt down the last remnants of the Jedi. Now that would be a game I would buy.
This guy was trained/tortured from birth to be a dark Jedi. It's all supposed to fit into the actual storyline perfectly.

KOTOR was good, very story driven, nice mood.

Combat...boring!

Force Unleashed seems to be the way to go.

Like i said in the other thread, they should just drop the silly names, all it is is procedural animation and objects interacting with the physics engine that aren't simply rigid bodies.

Looks cool though, looking forward to a demo. Will be interesting to see if they pull of a decent game or if it will simply be gimmicky.

Euforia and DMM look very interesting.. The next step up from Havok physics.. I really applaud developers that invest and do R&D in this kind of stuff..

I wish more developers did it.. For example, as good as CoD4 is, IW could do a lot more with physics in their games to make them even better.. Valve did some cool stuff in HL2:EP2..

And I can't state it enough, this is all part of true innovation in games, something people forget in Wii v true next systems discussions for example.. It's not only about graphics, but also very much this stuff..

Looks great but they should work on the fps now. A game running on a console should be easy to run in a smooth framerate, the hardware is the same in every console. (without thinking about multi-console things)

Sabato: I know it's the names of the products that were licensed for this game, but that doesn't change what they do. I just wish they'd tell us what they do instead of feeding us some bull about how "it's sort of like molecules" :)

What surprises me the most is that we haven't seen more stuff like this.

Meh, I'd much rather have something other than yet another SW game. Don't get me wrong, looks great but LA used to be known for making new, original and great games.

didn't know that throwing a storm trooper into a ship would make it blow up. it can withstand one or two laser shots but not a human body?
That must have been one helluva throw lol. It might have had the impact similar to a car collision resulting in the explosion of the fuel tank. I don't know, I guess I'm trying to come up with an excuse to back up the cool animation. But yeah, that was funny. Did Darth actually knight him with that saber? His shoulder could have been severed with one slip.

Battlefront was pure garbage. Rogue Squadron II was decent, but it was flying only.

Improving on framerate? They aren't even done with the game yet. ;)

On topic: Looking fantastic and DMM looks very cool. Hope the gameplay turns out just as good rather than having an overpowered Jedi running amok on those troopers.

Even if he was, unless this over exposure and use of the force kills him in the end, the canon will go al wonky.

I didnt even want to look at this video because any attempt these clueless license devs try is futile, yet they always praise their own ideas to high hell like the proper pr monkeys they are.

But this time somethings clearly wrong. These people actually have something rather novel, dare I even say "next-gen" going on here.

How dare they actually use the hardware power available for such things as "physics" or blended animation. HOW DARE THEY! This gen is only for last-last-last gen garbage like Turning Point. This gen is for any dev that wouldnt see the future of gaming if it walked right up and kicked them in the face, picked up their teeth, made a fancy necklace out of them and strung it around their necks so tight theyd chew their own head off.

Go you crazy talented men with ideas you!

looks like fun. I hope you progressively gain Jedi powers and aren't completely unstoppable from the very beginning. The technology is cool, but it seams like LA is shooting for a T rating for sales reasons. The best use of this technology would be to use DMM on the enemies so that they can be dismembered in real time, but i'm sure the rating board wouldn't be too happy with that...oh well...

I'm worried that all the talk about Euphoria and stuff will make the rest of the gameplay meh. Euphoria is great, but come on, this looks to be more of a tech demo than a retail game. Maybe next time.

The way they are trying to explain the technologies being used hardly sounds like bull to me. They are trying to mimic nature and to see how something behaves you have to look at things at the lowest possible level..and to wit it does come to to molecules. So if you want to have natural looking motions, you need to focus on the dynamics of that motion in a game character and look at how their "muscles" should work to give the appearance of natural motion.

If you do any amount of coding this seems a perfectly natural way of thinking and doing..if you are not a coder then perhaps it just doesn't make sense..

Wow, again! This game looks amazing. The environments really breath EPICNESS! Those HUGE indoor environments, I just love that!

ME did this very well at times, but not often enough. This game looks to be the first true next-gen game.

The levels and scope, just WOW!
