I hated the music, love the game.

Try to add something from Devil May Cry 1 or 2, something much less rock with no lyrics at all and more industrial with no lyrics.

But I did not expect good music, all the videos I have seen from users they always add typical rock music only teenagers listen to...meh.
Unless...well its a official music from DMC4 :S

Ah well, can't wait for the game next week though :P

No
Maybe I am unlucky to find these type of videos.
Those are usually the ones people want to show off clips or their "master" gameplay, and they always add those type of music.

I always say, use the original music from the game to show off, or don't add any music at all and keep all the original audio.

It fits perfectly considering its from the actual source.

Well this song is rather bad, but you can't jump into conclusions about rock music basing on that alone.
Anyway, boring game, boring video.

yet it's ok for you to use custom soundtracks during your actual playthrough? :p

I thought the music was fine, at least it was melodic with some high notes and a voice that isn't hair dryer monotonous.. which many angst rock singers are these days. (The ones I presume Sath is refering to)

This still doesn't quite top the DMC3 trailer in sheer coolness I reckon, but it's still pretty damn awesome.

On that music alone?

I have listened to plenty of rock music in video games...mostly user videos and MTV...I just do not like it, and I have noticed that many people use rock music in their user videos for games even it doesn't fit the game.

Ah well, good thing I have my iPod wherever I go.

And yes Kenshin...if I choose the 360 version.

Let stop with music genre here and focus on DMC4.

What is attract mode? Never heard of it :S

It's the video that usually plays when you don't touch your console after booting the game. Usually used in game shops so people are "attracted" to the game ;)

Ah...now I get it.

Kind of like a second intro if you don't touch any buttons in the menu.

I know Ninja Gaiden has one, and many other games for that fact.

I thought attract mode was that you could play in levels and then it would be recorded :P

Ah well, thx for the answer my good man ;)

An advice - don't watch MTV. ;] To be honest I'm now much more into blues than rock, but I still love me some Jethro Tull or something like that and I think it's amazing music. I don't know how you can bash that music and say only teenagers listen to it.

i think metal would fit better for a game like devil may cry but on a side note: mtv and rock music is an antithesis. mtv played real hardrock and metal in the 80s but nowadays you only get watered down angsty and therefore easy to market to their target audience wannabe-metal.

Wow this is getting ridiculous, some of us own both consoles and would like to get the superior version (even if they are close). The demos were quite possibly old builds so I will need impressions from people who have it.

I know the game looks amazing either way but I'm only buying one version and I want the best looking one, I'm fine with either controller so that doesn't affect me. This isn't about 360vsPS3 fanboyish crap...not everyone cares about stupid console wars...

Grow up!

I think the response to this video pretty much answers your question, Joe. When it comes down to it people have no idea what version they're looking at.

Achievements are a fun addition, and if you've got both consoles then chances are you're playng the 360 a lot more simply because there are way more games for it, so going with that version is prolly a good idea.

Unless you simply want to give your PS3 a whirl for once.

Thank you for the mature reply,

At a quick glance on a video like this, it's hard to see the image quality differences. Like I said both look good but there are definitely some differences.

The biggest one i've seen were the frost creatures in the demo looking much better on the ps3 build (missing shaders on 360) so i'd like to know if that's fixed in the final build. Struck me as a bug more than anything else. I guess we'll be getting comparisons from the final build soon enough anyway.

Cannot wait for this game either way! Everyone should play this :P

Can we have a comparison video for the audio as well...

"PS3 has much better low-end response..."

"360 has better mid-range punch..."

:oP

I personally think the music is fine, custom soundtracks help, but this is the kind of thing I would expect from a Japanese software house (anyone remember the music for F355 Challenge? Be thankful it isn't that!)

I liked the demo, so will be getting this!

@ Joe

Yeah, although it'll come across as a really weird thing to do, talking about the ACTUAL GAME around these comments threads, I'm really pretty excited at this point. I just love the mix of influences in this game, and the subtle humour to keep things from getting out of hand serious and pathetic, while still maintaining an irrefutable sense of coolness.

There was a real risk of Nero being a bit too Raidenesque, acting primarily as a polar opposite to Dante, using that contrast to make Dante cooler, and while that is partially true I still think he's clearly defined as a character with his own stuff going on. Superficial similarities will have people jumping to the conclusion that he is too similar to Dante and the difference might be hard for newcomers to appreciate, but I also really understand Capcom's reasoning that the white hair is a very iconic image for DMC.

I think Nero seems like a character with much more personal drive than Dante, which is interesting. He seems more passionate whereas Dante has this sort of just shows up and does what needs to be done but isn't particularly bothered with the details.

I didn't play demo either because I'm not exactly new to DMC and I know I'm gonna buy it, so I didn't want to take the edge off its release by flailing about with a demo beforehand. Just 10 more days now.
