NIS America today announced that they will bring Disgaea 3 to the US in August. Great news for many, and inside you will find some images from the Japanese version of the game.

oh my, what a crappy looking game. the definition of a lazy dev right here. you'd thing the sprites would at least by high def.

The game is going to be great, i'm sure but i just can't bring myself to buy what essentially has the same graphics standard as FF Tactics. Sorry NIS, you probably made a great game but it looks so terrible that i would only buy it if it was on PSN or retailed for like...9 bucks or something :\

Yeah wish it was for PS2 as well, and it would have went to my home, but this does not justify it, the game serie was not THAT waesome, it sure had it moments.

This really surprises me, considering that Disgaea 1 and 2 were such graphical powerhouses. Disgaea's only saving grace thus far has been its graphics, so I don't see how anyone could be interested in the series now.

I'm sorry, but there's no point to this being on the PS3. If you're going to leave the resolution of characters like THAT, then why bother making any of it next gen? Is there some power to the PS3 that will allow for better calculations? Honestly, I love SRPG's and I think this is just silly. Look at how bad the characters look compared to the environments. It's cringe-worthy. It reminds me of the terrible job they did with the characters for the Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo XBLA release. Next to those high-res gems, it just looked bad.
I really see no reason for this business. They should have just put it on PS2 so more people would buy it.

Hopefully they will redo the spirtes for the US, but I'm not guna hold my breath, it shouldn't even be using sprites at all, if devs like Idea Factory can use 3D models them im sure NIS can also.

This is just plain unacceptable...I mean I know Gameplay > Graphics, but I at least expect a game for a $400 next gen system to surpass PSX graphics.....

they aren't just sprites...they're pixelated sprites...MSpaint anyone? whoever came up with that idea should be removed of their capacity to procreate, then be locked in a box of itchy pinecones for the duration of their life.
