EA and DICE release eleven new images of Battlefield: Bad Company, secretly showcased in a fancy V.I.P. hotel room beside the Game Developer Conference. We weren't fortunate enought to be invited, but the hell with it, here are the screenshots anyway.

Looks cool, but I need BF3. If BF3 brings this level of detail graphically, I will be super pleased.

Have you played the game yourself? How do you know the controls and the aiming? Watch the new video, that's full of both single-player and multiplayer footage. Shooting looks incredibly tight and responsive. So, before you play the game, don't give judgement on the CONTROLS.

BTW, raised the standards for what? Boring same-y environments with broken buildings? What, don't like some open air, forests, trees, and a little more variety than most urban shooters? Fine with me if you have a different opinion on what environments you prefer, but you don't even have the whole game. Have you seen all the environments?
I can see it, no need to play it. And yes, I can judge that just by looking at it, I have never mistaken a game's controls in that regard from just watching footage. Don't believe me? I couldn't give a rats ass. Also, read my post again and you'll notice this sentence in there:

"But all I've seen of this game thus far is..."

I have watched all the available videos of this game and all I've seen is copy/paste bland environments. I'm not sure what game you've been looking at, but COD4 has some of the most amazing, detailed, varied and atmospheric environments I've ever seen in a game.

Anyway, I have a feeling there is no sensible discussion to have had with you concerning COD4, so I won't waste anymore of my time on this.

It also has dumb scripted AI, spawning enemies, linear paths and forced choke points, all last, last, last gen gameplay, what's next gen about COD4 other than the graphics and sound? Certainly not the gameplay.

I dont care about the single player its not what battlefield is all about. If they deliver the over the top vehicle craziness and just deliver on a little bit of the destruction they promised I will be happy and will gladly play it over xbox live.

Touché. COD4 summarizes the average gamer in that it brings nothing new to gaming, let alone its own genre, wraps it in a new shiny box for the fourth damn time and makes a killing. The average gamer is a sniperwhoring, bunnyhopping jackass who couldnt drive, pilot, think or shoot to save his life in the more advanced games the future WOULD bring IF he didnt keep on purchasing COD and Madden every year.

The FPS genre is like the hollywood action movie. In the past two decades only three movies worth seeing have been made. Terminator 2, Alien 2 and the Matrix. (Doom1, Battlefield 1942, Gears of War)

COD4 is the Terminator 3, Spiderman 3 or Alien vs Predator of games. Huge budget, smooth ride, and people who've been around for more than 15 years will be yawning all the way to the blissful sight of the end credits.

But I'll still say this. Bungie should get smacked harder for their LACK OF TECHNICAL FINESS in Halo3. At least Infinity Ward has the foresight to polish their titles. Halo3 is a stuttering, warping, slowdown mess for what it is. The only worthy parts in the campaign are the vehicle sections on heroic and legendary. The same cant be said for COD4 because.. well. What vehicles?
