Page 1 2 >>They could use a new character modeller, the arms on the tranny are waaaaaay too long..........
I don't see if competing with GTAIV, first one was fun but came nowhere near to the quality of a GTA in terms of story or gameplay elements......
BTW..last pic looks nice.

GTA came nowhere near to the quality of a SR in terms of gameplay elements. Keep sayin the contrary to yer delusional self... maybe you'll start to believe it.
Already played GTA4, hunn?

The game looks great, and the fact is, even though most people want to think SR stole ideas from GTA, it actually didn't it was a standard "Open World" game, and if you see some of the features in GTAIV, you'll notice they took a fair share of SR ideas.
I wish people would stop trying to compare the two games like theres not enough space for both of them? Thats like freaking comparing SWAT and Rainbow Six, though you never see that comparison very often.
Either way, SR2 looks fantastic and i will be getting it alongside with GTAIV, only an idiot would restrict themselves to just one of the two.
and i think that may be true... the stories of the GTA games.. (personally not including GTA SA) were really good story lines.. >< ... >< ... >< ... >< .. >< ... ><

I'm glad there's both SR and GTA, it's better for us when they use each other's ideas.
umm i think Grimbarian was saying that SR doesn't compare to the (OTHER) GTA's in terms of gameplay and what not.... gotta read between the lines people!
But thanks for at least trying to explain his ignorance.......
That said the gameplay was good, but lacked the lunacy of a typical GTA game, which IMO made you forget about the medicore gameplay to begin with. When they've done better this time I can't see SR2 competing with GTA4.
i cannot wait to live in that cheap dirty house, this will be great
I didn't like SR very much. The story was below bad, the characters were all flat, especially the protagonist who spoke two words (one being a grunt) in the whole game.

And I disagree, while the story was nothing fantastic, a lot of the characters were pretty deep, and had a lot of secrets once you really got into the game, and almost all of them were extremely well voice acted. It wasn't trying to be anything epic, but it was enjoyable story, and knew when not to take itself too seriously. Try watching this video, it does contain massive spoilers for the original game, but seeing as every preview for SR2 seems to be giving away the story anyway, I'm not sure it matters anymore. http://youtube.com/watch?v=r5J8-ZBKo3M
And like was mentioned before, I think one of the reasons the game was so much fun was because of the activities, fun little mini games that were basically fleshed out versions of things most people do while playing these types of games anyway. My favourite one was insurance fraud, where you basically had to throw yourself infront of traffic to sue the drivers. Combined with the bizarre rag doll physics the game had, you could do some pretty hilarious stuff.
Needless to say, I'm not greatly excited for this one. Still, I won't completely write off this sequel...it might actually turn out half-decent.
Personally i think Saints Row was a BIG brother to GTA. I mean it had more gameplay stuff, better gfx, better physics, better damage modelling and car handling, better combat. More stuff to do. Everything.
Im convinced that GTA4 will surpass it, but dont count Saints Row out just yet.
But let's not compare games with others especially games that aren't out!
From now on let's talk about games in a way that NOT makes it sound like you've played when it's not even done yet..
