Rockstar has just updated the official website for Grand Theft Auto IV. No less than 19 screenshots are thus offered, all packed into an awesome gallery after the jump. Oh, and there are two videos too if that counts.

Lol, I love the "it's the artyle"excuse you people have come up with nowadays.
Don't get me wrong, I'm perfectly ok with how the game looks, but addressing the 'lack of graphical fidelity' to artstyle is probably the most idiotic thing I've ever heard.
Sure, the art is a major factor in the graphics department but please...don't spout such nonsense.

Does no one realize the 'smeary' effect people are complaining about is to keep the game in GTA's visual style? Why does everyone want everything to look the same... just cause it doesn't have 4 layers of random dirt doesn't make it better then something with actual thought and design behind it. Watch the videos, the textures just ooze GTA. If they took actually images and strived to be close to real life like other games (Half life) it would look generic, and alienate every GTA fan out there.
This look, is GTA. It's amazing they could actually manage to upgrade technically yet retain the look of GTA.
Uhhh, nothing wrong with sticking to that ugly, cartoony art style of past GTAs (even tho rockstar already said they are trying to move away from that), but at least use some goddamn normal mapping or at least some bump mapping or something. Jeez...
The ONLY pixel shader I can see on these environments in these shots is the circles on the white walls in this shot.

You've just hit the nail on the head with that quote. People just don't seem to understand that there are artists working on this game with a specific idea or art direction. They obviously do not want this game to look overly realistic. I certainly wouldn't either. It's a videogame, and video games are meant to look like so. If I wanted real life, I'd go to Afghanistan. To have this game start looking like real life would probably be a bit too close to the bone and be rather disturbing. More sadistic. At least with this art style it retains the GTA/video game/ humor elements that we associate with fiction.
I just love how people moan about how bad this texture looks, and how blurry that looks. Sit them down at a canvas or CPU image software and they'd be clueless.
Any new details about multiplayer modes. I did read that there is no coop, but still it's going to have something more deep than usual team deathmatch MP. What they are working on then? :)

Ugh….scratch that previous comment. The upcoming Game of Thrones video game is a F’in mobile phone game. Why can’t they came an open world GoT game, like Witcher 3 or God of War? (> 3 Months ago)

...which look fantastic, but nothing else really... I really hope they don't skimp-out on that aspect.
