First images of Sonic Unleashed

First images of Sonic Unleashed

A vile leaker revealed the first (numerous) images of Sonic Unleashed to the face of the world, with two bunch of images. The first one showcases what looks like sixty-three (!) in-engine screenshots, and the second one CGI cutscene captures. Oh, and there's an artwork too. If we are to judge from the graphics - which looks surprisingly like Blue Dragon - the platforms of release should be Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. We won't know until Sega brings us their press release, which shouldn't be long to come.
Update: Full update of the galleries.
Update2: Announcement teaser added.

Wait, is this Bioware's Sonic RPG or is this a totally different game?

And yes, the first batch of screens look very similar to Blue Dragon - the environment anyways.

Totally different. Bioware's Sonic RPG is a DS game.

While the graphics look great, I think it's a bit too early to announce the platforms for it already. It seems to have more in common with Sonic and the Secret Rings if anything. I wouldn't be surprised if it's a Wii game.

Is Sonic's hand going through his spines in the Edit: Fourth image (change the image order will ya:)? Anyways, the visuals look nice so far... although Sega will never capture the Genesis games!

It's crazy that some Sonic fansite had the scoop first.

I think it looks pretty good, mecha Sonic NEEDS to be in this one. And less of Sonic's shitty friends I agree.

Just Sonic with tons of levels and no extra BS like carrying a princess would be optimal.

Judging from the screens, it definitely is NOT a Wii game

Yea, screens are WAY above what Wii could ever do, they would have to be complete bullshots.

Doesn't look quite like a 360 / PS3 game either, but it's far closer to 360 / PS3 than Wii.

If by "far more then the Wii could ever do" you mean "far more then developers would be effort into" then I agree. And as long as it's not done by the Sonic Team, I'm cool.

Yep
Blue Dragon milky-rendering and design)))
Looks awesome. I want GREAT sonic game, not crap

I very, VERY much doubt with that fidelity it'd be a Wii game...

Global illumination lighting like Blue Dragon's. Looks great.

Okay, so it looks pretty nice, but if i know anything about anything it will be punishment to play. Assuming it's Sonic Team making it, that is.

I'll hold on hope on this one remember the first next gen Sonic game did look good but it was horrid to play.

Also didn't Sega say somthing about leaving Sonic alone for awhile after the poor game they made? Well that rest didn't last long

looks outstanding, i at least hope this will work on Sonic Adventure's level as far as execution with new stuff.

No, I mean far more than the Wii is technically capable of doing, ever. I'm not just talking about the image quality (resolution and AA) either.

I wish people would stop blaming developers for bad looking Wii games, the system just isn't very powerful.

Some spots look like it could definitely be a Wii game; ie. the simple architecture and flat textures. Other spots are completely beyond what a Wii can do; ie. AA and motion blur. It could be Wii game bullshots or it could be a very early build of a PS360 game.

lol, yeah I remember that. I guess they don't though!

Those screens do look mighty tasty, they make me want to play Blue Dragon again, that game is damn gorgeous!

After that last sonic game, I've lost hope for the franchise (bar the Bioware game). The only thing that will turn this around for me is if it plays like Sonic Adventure 1.

If they can't do that then they should go back to 2D, with killer hand drawn graphics (KoFXII look what you've made me want!!)!

I agree some of the shots could be possible on Wii, minus the AA and resolution. However shots like the wide range shots, the water shot, even the one with the little flame thrower robot (the lighting effect on the robot itself) aren't possible on Wii either.

The wide range shot almost makes me wonder (and hope) that this could be more of an open Sonic game (one of the best things about the 2d Sonics is there were multiple paths through every level).

Damn good light. If its not prerendered bullshots, then it is one of the best lightning engine Ive ever seen. Look at this one: http://images.gamersyde.com/gallery/public/8042/16... ...Totally plastic.

I know Sega's not as bad as Nintendo, but I hate it when companies milk these tired franchises. Otherwise it actually looks pretty nice from an artistic point of view

Is it me or does this house remind you of the house in The Transporter?

blmbox He's a good passer, but he isn't dynamic enough and doesn't really have the guile. That's why players such as Lampard have the edge on him. (4 Hours ago)
  • Slabs
Slabs Carrick has proved numerous times that he can play the big games though. Nobody did themselves any favours against Barca. (5 Hours ago)
  • blmbox
blmbox Carrick proved in the CL final that he can't hack it against the big boys... Fletcher is very underrated though. I would hardly consider him or the others to be world class - Giggs used to be. (5 Hours ago)
  • Trebby
Trebby @blmbox: steven defour from belgium is quite a talent, but they got giggs, possebon, anderson, fletcher, carrick, ... so they got plenty of talent (5 Hours ago)
