So, my basic impression is that the environments are gorgeous while the characters look a bit less exhilarating. While i'm a bit cautious with this particular title (what with bethesda and all), i still feel a fair amount of hype.

Fallout 1 and 2 are like the textbook examples of superb RPGs, but will bethesda be able to deliver? I mean, the game can still be a good game, but it has a lot to live up to if it's going to please the fans :)

*edit: I also hope that they have improved the character making part from oblivion a bit :P

I'm not blown away by those screens, though the second one looks pretty cool.

twoism: hopefully not, but probably yes :P

I hope that they manage to preserve the stuff that made Fallout 1 & 2 so great...like witty/humorous/unique dialogue, great characters and a leveling system that is not retarded. I also hope it's WAY more balanced than oblivion.

Having just read 1up's (Jeff + Shawn's) most recent preview for this game, my interest in this title has skyrocketed. It sounds amazing. I know it may not be the Fallout 3 that some were expecting years ago, but Black Isle is gone and for better or worse, Obsidian lost out. Bethesda is a great developer and this game sounds awesome. I can't wait to play it.

I think he third pic captures the feeling/athmosphere of fallout 1&2 quite good.

Also I'm looking forward to really travel through deserted landscape - i hope there's also a car in this game for transportation purpose. :)

And I think the ghoul in the first pic looks nice.

The lack of shadows is surprising. No shadows in the first pic for example.

its FPS + JRPG sorta... you can use fps for killing and standard rpg elements but if u activate the VATS system ingame, it allows you to freeze time, setup an attack along with a bunch of stats on where your hits have a chance of doing most damage, and once you execute it it kicks into a cutscene like animation of the attacks...

teamxbox said its looking wicked, and its kinda funny fable 2 and fallout 3 both have the doggie element, and the grow up and develop yourself... though in fallout your poor doggie companion can die in fable he cant...

i want this and fable 2 BAD!

JRPG? Where did you get that from? Since it's the TES team making it, i can almost guarantee that it won't be anything like a JRPG.

Okay, so I haven't ever really heard of/played any of the Fallouts (I know I know, where have I been). Therefore, could someone please explain what the Fallout series is about in terms of story and gameplay?

If it's like Oblivion, i'm there. I'm not too sure that any 360 game has topped that for me so far in terms of what it offered.

Edit: Someone above hinted that the gameplay is turned based combat. Is it? I sure hope not... Not a fan of those games.

Come on guys, this looks insanely good IMO. It may look a little bit rough around the edges, but remember it is a large game they`re creating here.

I mean look at Warcraft.....it`s no gpu stretcher by any means, but what the game does, it does well!....and that is the important thing.

Damn this looks great. I read some preview and character creation sounded awesome. Huh people are complaining about graphics :p When have Fallout looked good... It's about living in the post-apocalyptic world... it's not meant to be colourful game. Anyway graphics looks good for me. Easily my most waited RPG.

Second pic looks cool. I can only guess at what it looks if camera would be moved a bit to the left :D
